I am a fan of steel cut oats. Cooked for about an hour. Keep adding more water if getting too thick. Finally add milk and let reduce and above. Serve with 1/2 half and real maple syrup.
I have been playing with the Instapot. About 3 to one ratio water to steel cut oats. 6 minutes high pressure-then natural release. I would like to add some dairy to make then creamy. It seems to get kind of cool if the lid is off the Instapot. Only tied it a handful of times. I like no stir - but think they could be better.
Sometimes I will add salt and sometimes add homemade vanilla extract. I am not sure that it adds much. Would also welcome good but faster oatmeal recipes. Prefer not the instant or flat rolled oats - but willing to try all tips. Thanks.
