I can add my feelings about the Diamondback now I’ve had it for a while. In terms of the shaving result there’s nothing I could complain about. I get the close shaves I expect without irritation and without excessive buffing needed, and it’s relatively easy to get the shave I want because the razor isn’t especially fussy about angles. All very good indeed.

I think in terms of handling and feel, which become the differentiators between my best razors, I don’t find the Diamondback quite as engaging or interesting to use as some other razors. I’d like it to give more positive feedback during the shave - I don’t mean more aggression or blade feel necessarily, and I prefer a mild-medium razor, but the feedback doesn’t add to the sensation of shaving here as much as my favourite razors do. The handle could be a bit more grippy, but that’s a small thing that I can make adjustments for. The handle does feel very soft and pleasing in my hand, though, when it’s dry.

I hope that makes sense. Really an excellent razor. It shaves well enough to compete with my best razors, but just misses a little bit of involvement and pleasure for me. I’d still pick my two Lambdas, Wolfman WR2 0.95 and 1.55, and Durdan La Faulx Classique as my top five razors, and the Diamondback would be one of the few that is in a group close to those.

I hope that doesn’t read as damning with faint praise. All I’m talking about is a very personal preference for the nuances of how a razor feels and handles.

Looks alone, it’s a winner for me. Let’s see how it shaves

Hit the grizzly mug with the DB Ti after 3 days of growth.
Some Tabac soap, blade on 6th use.
Just stellar.
Did my standard 3 pass shave: up, down, sideways..just a sublime BBDFS or whatever the latest acronym is.

This razor is a bit of a shapeshifter, metaphorically. Things I was picking out as gripes some days ago
no longer presented. Adequate feedback, great efficiency (just some posts ago I was agreeing this thing
may be like a Charcoal Lvl1...now I think it's more like between Lvl2 and 3). Hilarious!

I got a lot of engagement out of it...although I do agree the handle could be grippier...but I would rather have
a pretty handle like this one than a very grippy but butt ugly handle.

Not one weeper either...remarkable...I think the secret to today's shave might have also been the Sunday afternoon
vibe. No rush, no deadlines....just took my time and went through at a very leisurely pace.

Anyone compared their DB Ti to their Salient? Is the latter more efficient?
Both equally smooth?

Probably been covered but I don't want to go back and search.

Salient is quite more aggressive, slightly more efficient too. Almost the same smoothness. Imho.

Salient is more efficient, but not quite as smooth. The salient can bite if you get careless. The Ti DB is an autopilot razor for me.

TiBack has smaller gap but more exposure.  To me it’s smoother and a bit more efficient.  Just a gloriously smooth and efficient shaver.

Still enjoying the Ti Diamondback very, very much. Since it arrived around a month ago (lost track), I believe I've used it every shave except one or two. And I'm shaving more frequently. Used to shave every 2 days on average. Now it's probably like every 1.25. Every blade I've tried has been great (Gillette Platinum, Perma-sharp (gold), and Bic CP). Probably ought to go back to the Blackbird for the next shave... but then again the SS Osprey is due for delivery tomorrow. Conundrum! I wish all life's problems were so kind!
If you're on the fence with the Ti DB, I say, don't be. It's great for 90+% of shavers.

RAD is just a permanently temporary condition.  I'll get over it.. eventually.
