Suggest getting the 0,61 WR1 in DC - the OC side is noticeably more aggressive than the SB side - somewhere between half and full step up (0,67 SB eq)  Experience indicates that the WR1 is very sensitive to blades and find corked Timors to be ideal for 8 shaves here.

I'm actually surprised that I came to this conclusion because newer is always supposed to be better, right? Anyhow, just wondering wondering if those experienced Wolfman folks in here think this would be a mistake for reasons I'd not considered. I'm a solid bar medium agro guy, so I'm thinking .61 is the right gap for me.

Anyhow, thanks for your thoughts.

I would consider that to be a mistake but that’s just me. I sold my 3 wr1’s after the wr2’s came out. Better razor imo in almost every metric for me.

I also prefer the WR2, although not enough to divest in WR1s. The extra head height of the WR2 doesn't bother me at all. Forced to pick? WR2 all day.

I have a WR1 .74 and I have kept it just because but my WR2 1.25 is definitely the superior design.

The .74 WR1 is more in line with a 1.05 WR2. The 1.25 WR2 is more in line with a .90 WR1.

Design-wise, both are very nice....those 4 corner posts on the WR2 top plate that secure the blade are a pretty amazing thought.

The way I see it, if the WR1 were completely eclipsed by the WR2 and irrelevant, he wouldn't make them.

When my turn came, I had purchased both heads but was asked to pick just one...I went with WR2 and don't regret it one bit.
If you go that route, get the 1.15 SB without hesitation...it's a phenomenal gap... close to, yet superior to a CG Lvl2.

In the WR1, Ive read that the 0.80 is the CG Lvl2 equivalent.

Eventually you have to get both heads..they get lonely without each other.

I have a very different opinion, maybe my sensitive skin is an explanation.

I use CG Lvl2 as one of my favorite razor
I also use WR1 .61 and WR2 1.05 and love both of them with a slight preference for WR2
I have used .67 and .74 and they’re too agressive for me

FYI when James launched his WR1 razor .74 was the maximum gap and referred to agressive. I think he was right

I doubt I'll be lucky enough with timing to catch a drop, but just in case, I'm thinking a WR2 but am not quite sure about SB/DC or gap - I like my CG level 2 SB and my Timeless bronze .38 and Ti .65 SB, so was thinking either SB 1.15 or DC (OC 1.05; SB 1.15) - not sure that version of DC makes sense - I could do DC with 1.05 on both sides? I guess if there's a question here, it's whether it makes sense to get different gaps for OC & SB on a DC razor? Thanks for any help!

for WR2 and 1.15 I would go SB all the way....reports are that there isn't much different between the SB and OC in the WR2 head anyway.
In the WR1 the OC is said to be a tad more efficient while the SB side is a lil smoother. Just paraphrasing from
the tons of reports Ive waded through.
