what gaps will you most likely hang on to?

80OC, 86SB, 94
115, 125, 135

I'm pretty sure all will stay. I enjoy the variety of gaps. Even though I prefer the WR2, the WR1 is much fun too.

No....you are not safe once you hit Add to Cart! You actually have to place the order. Have your PayPal/Apple Pay/Google Pay stuff all set up and ready to go.

Unsolicited advice...ALWAYS add a stand. Even if you don't want a stand. If you run into an Out of Stock issue between Add to Cart and final payment processing... DO NOT close it down. Look carefully...it's usually the head only the shows out of stock. Lot's opf times it will leave a handle or a stand in your cart. Check out with whatever you can. Once you get an order number, send James an e-mail with the Order Number as the subject. Ask to get the complete package...he will. I've done this a couple of times and know several friends who have too.

I actually had this happen with only a handle. I left the paypal window open and left, dejected, thinking No Razor for Me. Then it dawned on me...45 minutes later I checked out with a stand and wound up with a complete set.

I did the exact same thing and went ahead and placed my order because I wanted the handle that I chose. James contacted me and asked if I wanted to add a head to my order and I was in like Flynn!!

That's one heck of a "trick", thanks for sharing!

LOOT That is excellent information to know and I really appreciate it! Thank you very much! I'd actually not planned to order a stand, but will plan to do so now. It's actually really cool of James to do that for us. Thank you again for the excellent Pro Tip!

You’re not safe until you get the order confirmation imo.

I purchase all of mine on my mobile phone. Shopify will keep all your info and text you a code. This will input all your info. I can select what I want and check out in well under 1 minute.

James DuFour is incredibly accommodating...once you make it through the door. Getting through the door is not easy and I like it that way. Anyone reading this has the exact same access to his razors that I do. Any "tricks" I use to procure equipment are readily available on forums....or just good old common sense. If he opened yesterday, there is a 95% chance you can forget about him opening the door for two weeks. See, I just reduced your stress by 50%. You know where his shop is, you know the time zone he is in, you understand normal business hours. See, I just reduced your remaining 50% by some more. Put your thinking caps on and reduce your "chase time" all by self.

Chasing them is absolutely maddening and I promise you, if you've not been fussed at by your wife for refreshing his page while you are shopping, you aren't doing it right. DuFour will throw some curves and open at really oddball hours (for him) so people in other time zones have access too. I've caught it open at 330 on a Sunday afternoon...I've seen it open at 6pm on a Saturday. I think the man goes out of his way to make it as fair as possible yet, he still gets trashed for it.

As Sean mentioned the other day...start a text group with your friends. THAT is the big "trick?. I had no shave friends at one time too. I did read a lot tho. I identified people that like the same kinds of razors I did and started PM friendships based on the commonalities. That turned into a decent list of guys that have my cell number and are willing to share the GO when it's time. There are some really genuinely nice people on here. They make it easy to ignore the hate.

Heck simply following DFS can net you one...I ordered one while sitting on the beach in Destin, FL because someone posted on DFS it was open...and I just happened to be the selfish guy on the beach reading a danged shaving forum! BTW...I also had time to text others who ordered on the same drop. I am cursed with an obsessive/addictive nature. I finally found something I can channel it into that is not self destructive. The worst I can do is piss a stranger off because he thinks I took his spot in line. I can live with that.

LOOT ... Thanks you very much for 'sharing' this information. I have heard almost ALL of this before, BUT, NOT.. in such a concise and easy to understand form ...

LOOT just summed it up perfectly. He hit all the major points. Virtually everything I learned about how to get a Wolfman I learned here. Remember when we had to take library class in school? Research skills pay off here, too.

I have invested a non-trivial amount of effort into my plan to get made aware next time the store opens. If it all goes to plan, I will place my order and update this thread. I would like to help other new buyers get a razor if possible.
