How I missed this is beyond me. I'll be in to get a few OC variants. Better late than never as they say...

That's a great looking razor. How is it? It seems the older Gillette razors tend to be on the milder side, even the ones that are considered to be the more "aggressive" or efficient ones.

I have a couple Old Types and trust me, those Old Types are anything but, mild. However, I don’t consider them to be aggressive say like a Muhle R41. They are highly efficient and do provide for some exquisite shaves. The RFB however, is for me the best melding of the Old, New, Reissue, SC & LC open comb versions that Gillette ever created. It has superb cutting ability yet still offers a smooth and very comfortable shave feel that can be used daily or when multiple days of growth are present. Many in the Gillette camp consider it to be the best 3 pc. razor that Gillette ever produced and I’m inclined to believe so as well. It encompasses the near perfect balance of cutting ability, utmost in comfort with ease of use. Really a magnificent razor and a must have for any Gillette enthusiast. As always, just my humble opinion and the adage of YMMV does apply here as well.

Great shaves to you my friend.

That sounds like a nice razor. I sold my R41 and I also find my Backland Blackbird OC a bit too much. And I like blade feel, but it is rough even for me. YMMV, truer words have never been spoken I think than in this hobby! Great shaves to you was well!
