This model too has a sharp angle geometry.
On my R51 It took some time to me to master.
Over this, great razors.
I am not going to say I shaved with it prefect but I seemed to find the angle rather easily. I kind of had a feeling when watching the review videos from TSS that it would work with the way I was shaving with the BBS-1 head. I am curious though how much a different blade will feel after finishing my trial shaves with the Kai.

If you are in Europe, there are a few retailers or you could purchase directly from them in Italy. I'm in California and waited for The Superior Shave to receive their stock. I think as time goes by, they will have all the options with different colors.

My first thought was "Isn't this razor supposed to be super mild? Will it work with that monstrous lather?" And zaclikestoshave seemed to think the same for a second there.
Any thoughts on the razor? Or are you waiting for more shaves?

The razor mentioned at the beginning by ischiapp was the mild version which is the R51. The R52 razor felt fine to my skin allow there was a couple spots where I got a bit of razor burn but I don't know if that was due to the fresh kai or my pressure. I'm sure it was user error but it was a close and efficient shave. I was reading a few comments recently in another thread that was telling someone to give the shave details after one shave and claiming they couldn't gain much more thought waiting to get a few more shaves in. I tend to prefer using new stuff a bit more before giving my review. I can say I really want to get back to using my Carbon razor soon which I have only had 5 shaves with so far. I do promise to get some more shaves in soon with this razor and give you more details. All I can say to conclude is that I didn't buy any new razors in a while but after seeing posts about the Carbon and Tritok, I had a feeling they would be razors I would enjoy. So I do like them but I will have to use them more before I can really say how well they work for me.

PS-Many might think I go a bit crazy with the lather and that it may seem thick but I try to push it a bit past the hydrated stage. That isn't always what I get but typically I try to get it a bit runny. But if you are referring to when I pause and look closely at it, I was double checking the blade and underneath it to make sure it wasn't clogging. It was rinsing out well and had no issues with that.

I got the aluminum slant version when it became available a while back and tried to like it, but it just did not do it for me. I sold it as fast as I could. I see that there is no slant version in stainless steel, which is good because I won't be tempted to get one. I am not sure if making the razor in stainless steel will improve what I believe was a poor design to begin with. I have to admit that I like the handle though and think it can stand alone as a good design.

I would like to see a picture of the top of the R52 baseplate and the bottom of the R52 topcap.  From what I can see (which isn't much) it looks to have a flat topcap and a curved baseplate, but no blade vice.  Therefore lacking support, somewhat like the Mühle R41, it would thus be very prone to blade chatter.  Am I right?

Today I got to shave with the R52, and to see for myself how it is made.  There is a ridge on the baseplate, so the blade is properly secured.  It also provided me with a very close shave with no difficulties or irritation.  A very efficient, yet comfortable shaver.  This razor is on loan to me, but I am going to be looking to buy one.

No, this is one of three double edges.  The R51 is flat and mild, The R52 (this one) is curved and efficient,
and the R53 is a poorly designed slant.  The single edge is called the R48, and I've never tried one.

I've been enjoying shaving with this razor.  The level of efficiency this razor achieves with such a small blade gap and blade exposure is impressive.  The proprietor of The Superior Shave calls this "A very aggressive razor" and compares it to the Mühle R41.  I disagree.  To me this is a smooth and comfortable shaver, which gives a very close one pass shave with no irritation.  The Mühle R41, on the other hand, is neither smooth nor comfortable, and unless care is taken, there could be blood.  There is one disappointment though.  The threading on the center post does not extend to the base of the topcap (as seen in photo), that limits your use of other handles, which require a 2 mm spacer to cinch up.  I think they want you to use their handle.  Oh well.
