Since the Q8 is an "international event" ordering starts at 10PM tonight (Sept' 6) Eastern time. Of course one must wait to receive the order code.

Edit: 12 hours later, and still waiting for the "buy" code. :-)

The purchasing codes are active. Check your email for a private message from the BLF.

Did you get in on the actual Q8s, or like me, did you miss them and had to pre-order for the next batch?

I too had to pre-order for October.

I waited as long as I could but we had to leave. I missed getting one of the first batch by maybe 10 minutes. Oh well. It's not like I don't have enough lights, It's just that I've been waiting and following this light for 1.5 years. What's another month?

FWIW, we had a power outage in an electrical storm 2 days ago. After we were back on the public utility supplied juice I lit the M43 on moonlight mode and set it on it's bottom just in case we lost power again. It's a similar form factor as the Q8. Plenty of runtime too, like the Q8. I didn't even "dent " it by what I did for maybe 6 hours. The Q8 will easily do the same thing.

John, while I saw that I was pre-ordering I got confirmations tonight that my orders had been shipped. So I have no idea what the pre-ordering was all about. (scratching my head)

Let me know what you get in reply from them.

I'm thinking either they had plenty of lights and just put in a low number for inventory (in the selling program), or they adhered to the order in which they were ordered in the thread.

Anyway, mine are (supposedly) on the way. Now I wait for China Post.

John, the Q8s have stated to arrive in folks hands who live in CA. There are some laymans reviews on the BLF if you're curious as to what you bought.

Mine have cleared customs, the FedEx label has been printed and are waiting in LA for FedEx pickup. So they are 5-7 days away minimum.

Thanks, Brian, I'll check out the reviews, and I'm interested in your impressions once you get yours. Mine is back-ordered.

That's a bummer! When I ordered I ordered, it was a pre-order, but it miraculously got changed to shipped that night. I guess I just lucked out.

If you need a diffuser for it, to use it as a lantern during power outages, it has been said that this one will fit.

Banggood has it for a bit less and with free shipping.
