Although it doesn't have moving parts, such as a pivot, a stainless steel Wolfman DE is about the same price when the OneBlade is on sale and less expensive at full price when new.

Check the currency conversion. Everyone forgets they're sold in Canadian dollars. $300 CAN is $225 US today. Head and handle for a Wolfman.

So, even though the Wolfman is not readily available, the price to quality ratio of the OneBlade should not be an issue being discussed. It should be perfect.

totally agree with you about the OneBlade being perfect at its price point. heck, ANY razor that $200-$300 should be perfect...

I got a flawless one, and a collector's edition that was perfect, two others I sent to friends, and they were all perfect. Although I've been treated very well my them, I must say I am very disappointed in them after seeing your photos!

me too! I really wanted to love this razor, but they're not giving me the chance to love it, AT ALL! more than anything, I think it's a total embarrassment on their end.

I'll fire off an email tonight (which I'll share here) and see what they say..if I don't like what they say, I'm moving on from it. heck, I may just move on from it regardless.

here's the email I just sent:

Hi,

I received my replacement OneBlade yesterday and it's DEFINITELY not up to the standards of a $300 razor. Upon opening the box that the razor comes in, I saw gouges and nicks in the razor's head where the razor blade gets inserted...it's also rough to the touch. I expect a totally flawless razor for $300 (I bought it on sale for $200).

The real irony in this is that when your CEO did an interview with Mark of sharpologist.com (http://sharpologist.com/2016/09/interview-oneblade.html), he talked about an F-150 getting you from point A to B just fine, but a Porsche and the like giving you greater enjoyment out of the trip. Why, then, do you keep sending me F-150s to 'drive' when at the price you're asking people to pay, I should be getting a Porsche? This will be my second razor from you that had flaws and defects.

Please view these photos here to see what I'm talking about:

Why should I have to QC a $300 razor?!?!?!? I didn't even bother loading a blade to see if it smiled at all...

What can we do to rectify this situation? This is my second razor from you. The first razor has such a severe blade smile that I'm fairly sure you knew existed (even telling someone that it was part of the design) that the center of the blade almost touched the bottom of the head where the blade sits. The replacement razor you sent out looks like it was dropped or had a very poor machining job.

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

Thanks,

Andrew

Wow, that's surprising. I'd consider any person running a forum to be a VIP, and I'd make sure I took care of them.

I'll have to say, when you really learn who people are is how they react when things go wrong. The way the OneBlade folks have handled the shipment of defective razors has changed me from their biggest fan to their biggest detractor.

I can only hope that the spring in the pivot is made to last forever as I have great concern that they won't make it over the long run.

That razor is absolutely shameful for the price they are charging. I'm not getting the warm and fussy feeling about their lifetime warranty if they cannot even go out the door with a quality product. Not too sure what went wrong since I got mine(it shaves most excellently), but it is extremely difficult to keep tooting the virtues of this razor when all their good will evaporates when things go south. They get no more of my business nor will I recommend them to anyone.

With Porter Stansberry's record would you expect anything else but hype and a con? I didn't.

This situation is ridiculous. It's like they don't care?

Also that interview is cringe worthy.

"Great question!!!" I couldn't take him seriously after that. That whole interview was just buzz words and didn't sound genuine at all.
