Can't wait to see the comparative reviews from the "carriage trade" who WILL own both the ATT SE1 and the One Blade. Stands to reason that if the reviews on the OB continue to be very positive, that someone will ape the OB design and produce a good and functional version at half or less cost, if the patent situation allows. Any thoughts on how the OB is or is not protected?
The ATT SE also interests me since I am a big fan of their S1 and S2 slants. But I doubt that the ATT SE will be similar to the OneBlade. I guess it would be in the same price category since they are both high end razors, but now that I've used the OneBlade, I don't really see a comparison to razors like the ATT SE and the Mongoose. The construction and overall design of the OneBlade is quite different, and the pivoting head actually matters for achieving a proper angle on some of my more difficult spots. Also, the blades that are used in each system seem very different.

I'll likely pick up the ATT SE once the head is available by itself, but I can't imagine it being comparable to my OneBlade. The Mongoose/ATT SE systems are more closely related to a DE design, while the OneBlade is more like a highly evolved cartridge razor that uses an extraordinarily sharp and thick DE-sized SE blade.

What about blade availability? I do not intend to spark a "price per blade/shave" debate, just channels of availability.

GEM blades aren't going anywhere. Purchase in bulk from Connaught, Ted Pella, or EMS. Try-A-Blade is a great place to sample blades and find what you like.

Thanks! Completely forgot you can despine a GEM blade.

I'll bolster Freddy's final point earlier by offering that my own skin seems sensitive in the sense that it's more prone to nicks, weepers, and irritation than average. You could say I have "thin skin," which I'm content with. :-) But I have that combined with fairly thick, wiry whiskers, so what's worked best for me is a very sharp blade on a mild razor. In this context, something like the OneBlade excels. It also means many other razors other guys have no problems with are actually troublesome for me. By contrast, I can easily imagine having a skin-whisker combination where the OneBlade isn't such a clear advantage over most other razors. So, YMMV indeed.

This thread http://damnfineshave.com/thread-want-to-...lade-razor indicates that FHS-10 is available at Amazon. I can't find it on Amazon. Anybody got a link?

It also indicates its available on eBay. I only see it from one seller, shipped from Texas a MONTH from now That sounds weird.

Besides Bullgoose, out for a month, and Maggards, out for weeks, anyone else got a source other than tryablade and oneblade (both far too high) and Cannaughts who won't ship these to US?

Connaughts does ship to the US. I have gotten three (240 blades each) boxes from them.

Website now says Feather items are only available to UK customers.

Is their website wrong?

Juan at Gifts and Care has 100 for 43 euro excluding VAT. "G&C" code will get you another 10% off. Very much a trusted vendor for me.

That's odd , I wonder why that is the case. It's maybe worth sending them an email about it, you never know!
