Your thoughts on OneBlade

Having received a couple hundred of them, I can confirm that GiftsAndCare.com ships blades for the OneBlade. I highly recommend their service for these blades and anything else.

Connaughts does ship to the US. I have gotten three (240 blades each) boxes from them.

Website now says Feather items are only available to UK customers.

Is their website wrong?

Feather requires them to post that, but they will still send you the blades. I have done it twice. Just order some!

Haven't verified this, but I was told that EU regulation dictates that whatever is available for purchase domestically should also be available to the rest of EU (possibly provided that the vendor in question is not only catering/shipping to the local market -- which Connaught clearly does not). That text of Feather's may be put there but it cannot be adhered to by Connaught, in other words. And when shipping these blades all over Europe, why not to the rest of the world too, I guess. I'm based in Norway and just had a bunch shipped my way.

I apologize, in advance, for resurrecting this thread, but I thought I should post my thoughts on the shaver.

A friend of mine let me borrow his OneBlade and I have now used it for four shaves. I know this might be a tad early to get proper impressions of the razor, but I believe I have a good understanding of how it works, for me.
I would consider myself an experienced wet-shaver having used much too many DEs, SEs, and a few straights.

I have used both the Feather and the GEM SE blades, each for two shaves, one of the GEM shaves was for a head shave.
I have to say that this shaver is quite mild, but very effective. Granted, I have to perform 3 passes with quite a few touch-ups and I have to actually apply pressure while using the shaver to get close shaves. but I hardly get any irritation, at all.

I have to say that the Feather blades work much better as they are much smoother than the GEMs, but they start dulling at the end of the first shave.

I will continue to use the shaver until the end of the week to get a better assessment, but, for now, I really enjoy the shaves with it and I may have to invest in one, at some point, as it is such an easy razor to use without having to worry about cuts, nicks, or irritation.

The one big disappointment for me is the handle. I just don't like it and I find it very uncomfortable compared to my regular circular knurled handles.
This is one significant factor that might deter me from actually purchasing this shaver.

Wow celestino! I know that you don't typically like SE blade shaves at all so this is huge. Thanks for sharing your experience so far.

You are completely correct in stating that I abhor SE blades, but this shaver really tempers them and makes them quite tolerable, for me.
It is quite exciting as this may allow me to actually use another type of blade, except for DEs.
Hopefully, I can get used to this handle so that I can purchase this razor, but I won't be sure until I use it for a little while longer.

I think you'll get used to the handle Mr. C. The hollow part is weird at the beginning, but the more you play with it, it becomes second nature.

As for the blade, I use it one and out. I have used it twice, maximum, while on vacation, but no more than that. I agree with your assessment.

celestino I didn't care for the handle in the beginning, but I have now (pardon the pun) come to grips with it. I found finger positioning which works well for me. While I will continue to maintain too many straights, adding the OneBlade to my arsenal is allowing me to pare down to 3 "non vintage" regular use razors. For me that's huge.

Same here! The handle was awkward at first, but I soon became used to it by a slight alteration of my grip.
