I think the OneBlade would likely earn a spot in most anyone's rotation if they were to give it a try. I use the recommended 1 Feather blade per shave and it does a pretty impressive job. It will shave just as close as my Barbasol Floating Head or R41 with the same smoothness as my Feather AS-D2.

As with any razor, the more time you spend with it, the better "in tune" with it you will be. The various angles, pressures, etc...are all figured out within just a few shaves.

As of this morning I've completed my 14-day OneBlade-exclusive stint. It's been instructive in several ways, one of which is that toward the end I was both getting great, comfortable shaves, and also restless to try another razor (which tells me there's still value in variety for me).

If the OneBlade were my only razor, I'd be doing very well. I'd miss the variety, so the hobby aspect of shaving would suffer, but as far as actually just getting the job done, the OneBlade is as good as anything I've used, and easier than all the rest. I can certainly get close, comfortable shaves with other razors, but I haven't seen them work as consistently in my troublesome areas (mostly corners of my neck, or jawline). Granted, even the OneBlade can cause trouble in these areas if I'm particularly careless with it, but it didn't take long to see what I was doing wrong and now all is going very well.

In the last few shaves, I tried the technique SharpSpine described elsewhere, which is to let the skin be a bit more slack (no stretching, particularly on the neck) and add a bit more pressure with the razor than you would with other safety razors. Ta-dah! On WTG passes, this handled my neck best of any approach, and made the first pass with the OneBlade closer all over, without irritation. The added pressure did become a little problematic going ATG on the neck, so I back off there. Still, it's a great, counter-intuitive tip.

After 14 days, my skin is looking great. Redness I used to always have on my lower neck is almost all gone. I did have a few pimples show up a week ago, but I'm almost certain these were from a new after shave balm; they've since disappeared.

I now feel as if I know the OneBlade well. It's a reliable, impressive tool in my roster, and I'm very glad to have it. Next up will be some time getting to know my new Feather AS-D2. As I've said before, I think these mild (skin-friendly) razors pared with sharp blades are the right combo for me.

(And yep, I still haven't tried a de-spined GEM in the OneBlade! Soon enough.)

The OneBlade continues to share a stall with my Wolfman's as it is a great razor.  I'm now using the "one and toss" and I'm actually pleased.

Get one if you can.  I love shaving and I approve this message.

A question on the OneBlade for SharpSpine and onethinline, if I may.  I easily get seven shaves from a PFTE blade in my vintage SE razors.  It is my usual practice to discard a blade, SE or DE, after a maximum of seven even if I believe I could take it out for a few more spins.  Do you two think that would be the case with the OneBlade?

I have used the gem for many years in my SE's and i get less shaves with the gem in the oneblade than any other razor.
The only time I encountered a similar result was with my streamline. I can get 6-9 shaves with the OCMM but I stopped at 4 with the oneblade as I felt
the blade was getting dull. Have no idea why though.

I haven't tried a GEM in the OneBlade yet, so I can't say directly, but it sounds like Brian is getting great longevity out of them in his OneBlade (sounds like more than 10 shaves, at least). With the Feathers, I'm sticking to two shaves, maybe three, per blade, just to keep the optimum experience going.

David, based on my experience with the Feather DE blades, I find them to offer two great shaves and then they drop dead with no warning.  Is that the same with the Feather blades that fit this razor?

Interesting.  I guess it's the price of the razor that gets to me and I am in no way suggesting that it is a bad product.  I suppose I would at least like to be able to make it up on the blades I use.

Freddy---To me, the oneblade is the best razor I have ever used, period. Even though the razor is expensive,to me it is well worth it. I got my money back by selling all but 1 of my De's and I am going to eventually buy another oneblade for my head shaves. Believe it or not, I like the feathers for my face and the gems for my head. Smile . Seriously though I would not let the cost of the razor deter you from buying it as I feel it is worth every penny.
I have used the OCMM for over 20 years of shaving, considering it to be in my all-time top 3 razors and since buying the oneblade I haven't touched it.
If you can get the funds for it, do it. Don't forget they also have the 30 day money-back guarantee.

Freddy, I've yet to push the GEM in the OneBlade but I'm working on it. There is a learning curve with how different this razor is to get the most out of the blade. I can easily get 20+ (even up to 30) with the GEM in most of the vintage SEs, especially the Clog Pruf and 1914. This current blade in my OneBlade has 11 shaves on it and it was as smooth today as it was on the first 5 shaves. This is the first time I've really tried to get some longevity from a GEM and it's going great.

My experience has been that the better my technique became with SEs, the longer the blade lasted. So my current experience with the OneBlade follows this thinking to the T.
