I have been using it for a little more than a week and really like it.   I use the Diamine Ancient Copper ink.  Works well and allows me to write in fine detail.  You can't go wrong with a Nemosine.

I have heard good things about the Fission. I have the Singularities only.

I have been wanting to get a bottle of the Ancient Copper. Diamine is a great ink brand with some fantastic colors.

Freddy, Do you know who makes the ink carts that come with the nemosine pens?  I was thinking it may be rebranded Diamine but im not sure.

I am pretty sure those are generic. The brand name they sell, Chesterfield (in both bottled ink and cartridges), is the rebranded Diamine, I believe. Have a look at the xfountainpens site (xfountainpens.com) and look under ink and you will see that they sell generic and Chesterfield cartridges, as well as others that are not international standard and won't fit a Nemosine (such as Parker).

I hope this helps.

Eric, I have one of the cardinal red ones with a .8mm calligraphy nib and really like it. To iterate, the Nemosine Singularities are not going to give Mont Blanc anything to sweat about. However, for $14.99, including a converter and cartridges, it's hard to beat.

I've got one on the way, so I guess we'll see. Smile

I received my Nemosine Singularity (Blue Marble w/a fine nib) yesterday. I haven't been able to spend a proper amount of time with it yet, but will tomorrow. So far, I think it's a good size for my hand in both length and diameter and it feels well balanced.

I'm very interested in learning Spencerian or perhaps a round hand script....maybe a mix of both. Anything is better than my current chicken scratch.

Will let you know how it goes.

Eathan, I have tried to practice Engrosser's Script (Copperplate) and if you have a Mac then there is a wonderful free iBook by Dr. Joseph M. Vitolo called Script in the Copperplate Style.  It is actually for a dip pen with a flexible nib but it has lots of short videos and plenty of instructions. It may be available for a PC, as well, but I am not sure about that.

Michael Sull, another master penman, has a step by step book, with practice, for basic penmanship.  It is excellent and extensive but is fairly expensive.  Also, don't forget to give the internet a try.  There are quite a few practice sheets to print out.  While many are for children, there should be some for adults.

I look forward to your thoughts on the Nemosine when you get to use it a bit more. Smile

Ok. So I've spent some time with the Nemosine Singularity.

My initial thoughts as a first time user of a fountain pen:

Installed the cartridge per the instructions. No problem. Ink began to flow nicely. Began writing with it and some leakage occurred with some nasty ink blots, but those seemed to clear up after a few minutes of writing.  You definitely do not need to apply as much pressure on it as you would a ball point pen.  I am concerned about the cartridge leaking more. Will need to keep an eye on it.

I really like balance a feel of this pen.  More weight (which I initially thought I needed) is not needed.  I'm realizing I'm in for a huge paradigm shift in my penmanship. So I'm just going to go with it.

Ordered the Fine nib.  It seems to be doing a good job and I'm happy with the size.

Below is picture of the pen and a sample of chicken scratch : )
