Another Southpaw here that loves to write with a fountain pen. I'm also an underwriter and the less pressure required from a nib takes most of the hand strain away as we push the pen across the paper. Those lazy righties will never understand as they simply have to pull the pen across the paper.

I always forget about lefty day so I'll have to make a point of using a nice pen that day. This should motivate me to ink up my custom pen with some better juice & see if I can learn to love a wider nib.

My son started kindergarten this week and is starting to practice the basics of writing. So of course he needed his first fountain pen. Today his LAMY abc pen arrived. It is blue and is fitted with a medium nib. I have inked it with Noodler's Bernanke Blue.

A writing sample picture will be added tomorrow once I get home from continuing education classes and can take a picture of his writing lesson.

Wonder what the look on his teacher's face is gonna be when he dusts those other kids in penmanship. A shame we don't focus on that much any more in school these days...

That's incredible.  Makes you wonder how many art forms and methodologies of thought and reason we are killing with each passing year as we give more and more of our thoughts, actions, activities, to machines, computers, and robotic automation.  I fear a world when the typed word has replaced the written word.  When the text message and email have replaced conversation.   I fear that day may be when my three year old has children of his own, unless people of my generation are devoted to making sure some things like the written word, a thoughtful conversation, are passed to our sons and daughters.  Faster is not always better.  In fact, sometimes it can be detrimental.
