Hello guys

i'm new in this DFS forum . I owned a wr1 DC .74 , WR2 1.15,1.45 and now i have and never sold my WR2 1.55 Wink My question is i want to order next time a Basic brushed finish and want to know if theres some drag in the shave feeling or feel the same as a Mirror or polished WR2 ?

What do you guys think is the closest gap to a blackbird? That is my daily and I love it.

I'd bet on a WR1 .80. A BB is .58 IIRC. Shaves as good as any gap I've tried though.

I have shaved with all his SS finishes except basic polish...the differences are too minute to even
speak of. Basic brushed is a great workhorse finish you can't go wrong with.
If I wanted to throw money at him, I would pick brushed satin. (Gorgeous)
Im over mirror polish....you have to be so well behaved with it. LOL

Thanks for the answer . Yeah the mirror polish is very sensitiv . Hmm i think i must wait a few months and then i can another wolfman. Maybe i choose the satin finish but the brushed basic looks also nice Wink

Save your money and get the Basic finish. There is no difference in the shave.

I think all of the finishes are nice in their own way.
Really it's just a probably just personal preference of looks.
I like them all, not a dud in the different ones at all.
One thing I've noticed is if you have more than one Wolfman you might have different handles or finishes maybe both to tell them apart.

In WR2 I have a DC 1.15 OC/1.25 SB. I also have a 1.25 OC and a 1.55 SB. So I don't have a 'lower' gap. I do have a BBS-1, which is essentially the same design as the WR2, and it is a 1.00 gap. Going by that I would think a 1.05 or a 1.10 would possibly be the equivalent of the Blackbird, but I'm not sure. IIRC James classifies the 1.25 as slightly aggressive and the lower WR2 gaps as mild. I could be mistaken about that though.
