4th shave with this razor. It leans mild to me. I could do a full 3 pass shave every day and not have any irritation. It glides over trouble spots with ease. Folks that enjoy the .61 or .54 gap wr1 should love this razor.

Tomorrow I will try a more aggressive blade in this razor. I think you could easily use a feather in this razor without any issue, but I’m going with my trusty Gillette 7 o’clock yellow.

I can’t speak for the WR2, but the BBS-1 was designed to be used with Feather Blades. Obviously you could use whatever blade you preferred, but I’ve always used Feathers in my BBS-1 with great results. The BBS-1 clamps the blade very tightly, and there is no blade chatter. All of the WR1’s I have seem to be very forgiving of blade selection.  I’m looking forward to being able to compare the WR2 to the BBS-1. Kehole I’m loving those SOTD pics, keep them coming!

Thanks Hunter. I think I’ll skip the Gillette and just load a feather tomorrow am.

Here’s a copy and paste from Facebook. I left the info about the new ck6 base from PAA if anyone is curious.

I am starting to really like this razor. After a couple incidental comments from some wetshavers I trust, I removed the 7 o clock yellow and loaded up a fresh feather. Normally this is not a blade I like a lot. I’ve enjoyed it in only a handful of razors. MAN OH MAN - this razor was made for feathers. Just incredible sharpness and closeness but none of the undesirable feather side effects of toughness or irritation. Just a perfect 2 pass shave this am.

This new soap base is awesome. I’m not ready to crown it the best base of 2018 yet, but it’s joining the top 4 in my den for sure. They nailed the Sauvage scent. The splash doesn’t have much in it for face food, but is nice and light with heavy scent. Just wish it had a little menthol and there’s no way to remove the flow restrictor to add a couple menthol crystals.

A few more shaves then I will work my way back through the wr1’s starting with the .61 gap and spend a couple days on each one before circling back to the wr2. Overall I’m very impressed especially after using this blade. [Image: fbc1393a817755d26c5f5647221621df.jpg]

You hit it spot on; BBS1 is give or take 0,54 Wolfman. However, Feather a bridge too far; will stick Timors

Probably the last detailed post about this guy. Not much more I can say. I think the feather blade is a perfect fit. This is a daily shaver on the mild side of mid aggressive to me. I’m super happy with it and it’s likely made my .61 gap wr1 expendable. If you like wolfmans, and can get one, I would encourage you to do so. There’s nothing like it on the market right now imo.

This soap....I don’t know why this isn’t one of the more popular soaps out there. The name is long, and the packaging need work, but the base is undeniably good. It’s worked its way into my top tier with 3 other brand. I can’t recommend it enough.

My .61 is my most frequently used Wolfman so I think the WR2 May be a great fit. Thanks for the reviews.

I have WR1s in .61 and .74 and a BBS1. My question is is this something I need today or eventually get around to getting one, I do like the quality and craftsmanship and I do like buying something locally made. But I anticipate these will be very hard to get for awhile. Anyone who has used the WR2 and BBS1 can do an in-depth comparison

What it comes down to is we really don't know yet. This is a question that I've wanted the answer to myself. I would love to see some posts from those that own both razors.

I own a BBS-1 and have purchased a WR2 that I'm waiting to arrive. I'd be happy to share my thoughts once I have the WR2 in hand and can get a few comparison shaves in.

In the mean time....

I could be lazy and ask Sean to reach out to the vendor and ask, but he stated that he doesn't want to do that, so I'll be respectful of his decision.

I could reach out myself, using the contact information on his website, but again, I'm too lazy to put the effort forth. Plus it'll probably take several days for him to get back to me so I'll have to deal with my own impatience in the mean time. I'm just not willing to open myself up to that.

My third option is that I can just wait until mine arrives and do my own comparison. So this is what I'm going to do.

My guess, and this is complete speculation on my part, is that the differences between the two are the logo's and likely a different blade gap, maybe something else that's cosmetic and and doesn't really matter as well. The blade gap it the biggest impact. The WR2 is going to offer some additional blade gaps as well, this is something I would have loved to see in the BBS-1 as I would have really enjoyed a slightly more aggressive version of my BBS-1, so I'm happy that (I think) I'm seeing it here. A side by side comparison will certainly give some insight.

Again, this is all a total guess here, I'll share more once I can do a comparison myself. I'll look for differences, post some pics, share some thoughts about the shaves, etc. It should be here soon as I ordered it October 11th and chose the four business day shipping method. I'm waiting patiently but I thought it would be here by now.

I figured that the worst case scenario when I ordered the razor is that it would be the exact same razor with a different logo. If that's the case then I could sell one of the two and be happy with whatever one I kept. Even better is that they are different and I keep them both.
