Interesting, was the OC side feel just like the SB side feel? I have been meaning to get some of those Tungsten 74 blades off of EBay. I just keep passing on them every time I see some up for sale. How do you compare them to Feathers?

The SB just feel smoother and more comfortable to me. I was never an OC fan except for the Timeless because Timeless really rounds out the edges of the OC. The OC is ok on the WR2, just a tad more aggressive and not as smooth on the face as the SB side. I have sensitive skin and tough beard and shave every 3rd day with 3 passes with touch ups to get every whisker on my face, so smoothness and efficiency are most important to me. Every blade could possibly feel different depending on the razor, but in general I find the Persona tungsten 74 to be smoother and more comfortable than the feather and they last 10-15 shaves.

Thanks for the explanation. I’m a fan of OC razors and own several DC and OC razors because of it. I always start with the OC side for my first full pass with the grain and then go with the SB side for against the grain full pass and across the grain half pass (just cheeks). I know that people have said that the OC teeth on the WR2 are more rounded off than others which is why I am looking forward to it. I shave every other day so we will see but I think you are the second person to mention that you would be fine with just an SB. I have a WR1 DC .74 that I like. I just feel like my Timeless .95 DC and Charcoal Goods L3 DC have a better feel when shaving with them. Can’t wait for my delivery so I can start evaluating. Should be very interesting!

I agree the the OC side on the WR2 is more rounded than most razors but not as much as the .95 Timeless.

What angle are you guys using with your WR2’s to get the closest shave? Slightly down from the top cap?

I ride the cap on all Wolfman Razors. I have not found the angle to be narrow personally

Good to know! Thanks for that. My WR2 has reached the States and is scheduled for delivery Thursday.

AJ my friend. welcome! It's nice to have you. That handle is a monster. I leave it on my WR1-94SB. Thor's Hammer wields itself, I just hang on!

I'm odd man out, again. I tend to favor the Safety Bar but use as little training wheel as possible. I don't find the angle narrow either. Hmmm.

SOTD 12.14.18

Razors:
Wolfman WR1SB .94mm w/WRH1 x 100m (Thor's Hammer)
Wolfman WR2DC 1.25mm w/WRH7 x 98mm

Today I put new Feather blades in each of these beautiful pieces of functional art and went to work.  I used only the SB side of the WR2.  After the 1st pass the 94 is slightly more efficient but it's close. 94 has slightly more blade feel while the 125 is slightly smoother.  The N/S pass is where the WR2 excels in smoothness and blade feel is muted from the fist pass while the 94 kept it's blade feel. The 94 side on my face was slightly smoother after the 2nd pass....or let's say that side had more BBS areas.  3rd and 4th face pass the WR2 blade feel is there but it comes close to disappearing WTG.

The 95 gap WR2 threw me with the blade feel going away after the first pass but the 115 and 125 do the same thing just to a lesser degree.

Final results were the same with the WR1-94 and the WR2-125. 4 hours later and I'm still smooth and expect to be for more hours than I will be awake.  I'll keep an eye on it but my feeling about the gap comparison between the heads hasn't changed.

The WR2 115 and 125 have me rethinking my whole modern stable.  I told some friends, I think I could easily limit it to those two razors and a Blackbird set.  The Blackbird, to me, is in the efficiency range of a WR1-.74...but I prefer the Blackbird.

Having said that, the differences in today's shave was minimal.  The WR1 in a 94 gap is very comfortable shaver for how efficient it is.
Those handles look like monsters indeed. Really liking the wrh7

The 98mm WRH7 is the best. Cuts a little weight from the 100mm WRH1 and has much more polished area. The extra size makes it so much more comfortable in hand. The hollow version would appeal to those wanting the diameter but not all the weight.
