The 1.05 is a very capable and comfortable daily driver. Used mine for over 10 days straight with zero issues. Exited to try a 1.15 and see what that has to offer. The 95 is obviously another good comfortable choice but the increased efficiency of the 1.05 is not accompanied by any more perceived aggression. You can’t lose

Day 7 (final update...for now)

The 7th consecutive day of shaving with the Wr-2 DC (1.15/1.05) is done, my 8th consecutive day of shaving. What is life without risks? How do we know what our limits are if we don't push them?

I went for three passes today, which I rarely do. First two passes with the OC, the third pass with the SB. Again, it appears to be another great shave, but I probably should have stuck with two passes after shaving 8 days in a row. Immediately after, I felt a little irritation on my neck, but I think this Asylum Colonia splash has it covered. We'll see where I'm at a few hours from now. I probably should have went with yesterdays plan again today, but I wanted to find my limits. I think I found them.

My final thoughts...this razor could be my daily driver for sure. Normally, I don't shave more than four or five days in a row without a break, and the WR-2 can handle that easily. I didn't know if I would be bothered by only using one side of a razor for a whole pass. I definitely spend a little more time rinsing and I have been conscious about flipping the blade around after using one side more (to try to even the wear). I am very happy with this razor. Happy enough, that I need to use my WR-1 .80 SB a little next week to see if makes sense to hang onto it. Along with my Feather DX non-folder, I think I could be happy with just two razors.

That said...I'm curious about a WR-2 1.25OC/1.15SB with a WRH-7....

SOTD 12.14.18

Razors:
Wolfman WR1SB .94mm w/WRH1 x 100m (Thor's Hammer)
Wolfman WR2DC 1.25mm w/WRH7 x 98mm

Today I put new Feather blades in each of these beautiful pieces of functional art and went to work.  I used only the SB side of the WR2.  After the 1st pass the 94 is slightly more efficient but it's close. 94 has slightly more blade feel while the 125 is slightly smoother.  The N/S pass is where the WR2 excels in smoothness and blade feel is muted from the fist pass while the 94 kept it's blade feel. The 94 side on my face was slightly smoother after the 2nd pass....or let's say that side had more BBS areas.  3rd and 4th face pass the WR2 blade feel is there but it comes close to disappearing WTG.

The 95 gap WR2 threw me with the blade feel going away after the first pass but the 115 and 125 do the same thing just to a lesser degree.

Final results were the same with the WR1-94 and the WR2-125. 4 hours later and I'm still smooth and expect to be for more hours than I will be awake.  I'll keep an eye on it but my feeling about the gap comparison between the heads hasn't changed.

The WR2 115 and 125 have me rethinking my whole modern stable.  I told some friends, I think I could easily limit it to those two razors and a Blackbird set.  The Blackbird, to me, is in the efficiency range of a WR1-.74...but I prefer the Blackbird.

Having said that, the differences in today's shave was minimal.  The WR1 in a 94 gap is very comfortable shaver for how efficient it is.

I’ve used the WR2 every day this past week, except for one day that I used a WR1 .86 OC that a good Friend of mine loaned me. After using the WR2  nearly exclusively for almost two weeks, the shaves have become very intuitive. It’s easy for me to find the somewhat narrow window now. Coupled with a Feather, my blade of choice in this Razor, the WR2 really sings and provides plenty of audible feedback letting you know when your angle is correct. I found that I don’t need to apply any pressure while shaving, just let the Razor do the work as it’s plenty efficient. The Shaves are smooth, smooth, smooth. If I had to shave daily, this would be my Razor of choice. I typically don’t shave every day, but did this week because I wanted to improve my technique with this Razor, as well as see what it was capable of.

When I shaved with the loaned WR1 .86 OC earlier this week, I was worried that it might chew me up. The most aggressive Razors I own are my Timeless.95 OC, my Blackbird OC, and my WR1 .74 OC. I had an outstanding Shave with the .86 OC, it was extremely smooth and efficient. I had zero irritation after three full passes and touch up. The Shave was every bit as smooth as my .67 and .74 WR1’s, but was just more efficient. I was worried that the shave would be harsh, but that wasn’t the case, just extremely efficient and smooth. If this carries over to the WR2, which I’m told it does, I will definitely be trying for a WR2 1.25 SB. My only thought is that although the blade gap is increased, the exposure remains the same, and it was just easier for me to find the correct angle. I’m not sure if this is the case, but I was very impressed with the results. Going forward I’d also like to get a WR1 in .80 and .86 blade gaps.

If you enjoy smooth yet efficient shaves, then the WR2 needs to be on your short list. I’m very happy with mine.

Just received and shaved with the WR2 DC 1.15. This was the best Wolfman I have used. The BBS1 was smooth but not efficient enough for me. Now this WR2 1.15 did the trick. Had the smoothness of the BBS1 but was efficient and left me completely satisfied with a big smile on my face. The finish and polish is one if not the best in the business. I would love to see how the 1.25 is.

You guys are killing me! I’m glad this razor is working out for everyone and all of the updates provided will help with gap selection on this new platform. My time will come with one of these baby’s.

Glad you have yours and have shaved with it. What blade do you use? Also, did you use the OC or SB side on your first pass? My 1.25 DC should be delivered Thursday or Friday.

I used a NOS Persona tungsten 74. I used both on each pass. Just kept changing to see the difference. Look forward to hear your feedback on the 1.25. Next time I will get the SB, no need for the DC or OC.

Interesting, was the OC side feel just like the SB side feel? I have been meaning to get some of those Tungsten 74 blades off of EBay. I just keep passing on them every time I see some up for sale. How do you compare them to Feathers?

The SB just feel smoother and more comfortable to me. I was never an OC fan except for the Timeless because Timeless really rounds out the edges of the OC. The OC is ok on the WR2, just a tad more aggressive and not as smooth on the face as the SB side. I have sensitive skin and tough beard and shave every 3rd day with 3 passes with touch ups to get every whisker on my face, so smoothness and efficiency are most important to me. Every blade could possibly feel different depending on the razor, but in general I find the Persona tungsten 74 to be smoother and more comfortable than the feather and they last 10-15 shaves.
