After my second shave with the Ti WR1 .86SB I am convinced this is an incredible razor. It handled 2 days growth with essentially 1 pass.

.86 is my favorite gap in the WR1 so I can only imagine how great a titanium would be with that gap!

Pretty amazing.  Closer, but more comfortable than a .74SB in SS, which was my ultimate Wolfman prior to this one.  If you're comfortable with a .86SS, then why not try a .94 Ti?  I have concluded you can step up your maximum gap as long as you use a lighter weight.

Hmmmmm, that a good point. I love my SS .86 and my .94 SS collects dust when I reach for a WR1. I reach for my WR2’s a lot more than my WR1’s though. Now I can’t get enough of my WR3’s but that’s a totally different animal!

Lathered with MDC and used a Feather on its 2nd time around. More blade feel than my 0.74 SS but that was expected. I'm going to shave with this one awhile before I decide it is THE one.

So the prices being what they are I went with Basic Polish. I sent an email to Tara this morning 'Mistake With My Order' ....

"James must have made a mistake ... this bronze WR1/Darwin/WRA2 stand couldn't possibly be BASIC polished !

It is impeccable and shines like the sun !!! I couldn't imagine a polish job that would be superior !!"

My poor photos don't do it justice. I'll be doing the 'antiquing' on it soon.

Would be very interested to see when it is “antiqued”! A beautiful razor in any finish though!

Thanks yes it is ... too beautiful. I cannot bring myself to antique it. I'm thinking of ordering the same thing in OC and antiquing one or the other. Even if I have to wait a year.

On a better note .... So I've been shaving with this since I got it. The first couple were rough, and I thought the 0.80, rather than being the 'sweet spot' was biting off more than I could chew.

Didn't make sense because I've got 0.94 WR1, and 1.55 WR2. Anyway, the past few shaves, with a Polisilver, and then a Wizmet, have been great. I'm thinking perhaps the first shave with a new Feather (3 times) was a bum blade. Happens. Then a Voshkod for 1 shave, was good, a Polisilver (3 shaves) and one with a Wizmet were all stellar.

OTOH, I remember having a similar problem in getting comfortable with a 0.94 WR1 DC, a 0.86 WR1 OC, and a 1.25 WR2. Took me a number of shaves with each one to get to really be okay with them. Same with the Blackbird Ti that I sold within a week .... then bought another on the BST. Came to like it alot.

Maybe it is me. With the Wolfman stuff I have the bad habit of swapping handles. I have all of them and try different weights, lengths with different heads. Dunno, but suffice to say that the 0.80 bronze is nearly a sweet spot with a bit more blade feel. Maybe that's just a matter of my getting used to it.So far so good. Glad I got the lovely thing.

I have tried to let my bronze patina. I just can't. It drives me crazy some. I always wind up polishing it out. Just as I did last night. Here is a photo of the bronze crew all cleaned up.

Beautiful my man! It’s so hard for me to let things patina as well but I am also trying to find the time to polish things these days. Copper is my favorite material when it is polished. Absolutely stunning and I have a bunch of copper razors and brushes. I look over at them on my shelves and shake my head because I haven’t polished any of them in a while. I have noticed that some lower grades of copper and bronze patina much faster than higher quality copper and bronze. Kinda weird to me!

I've been shaving with the bronze WR1 0.80 exclusively since I received it. As you'll recall the first few shaves had me wondering if I had made a mistake.

Now the shaves are great. This morning a couple of days growth, maybe 2 or 3 ... not sure ... and the second use of a Gillette Nacet from a pack of 20 tucks of 5 that I bought years ago.

Awesome blade, awesome shave.

So I've put my name on the waiting list (we're back to a waiting list instead of a Google order form) and put myself down for a bronze WR1 OC 0.80. No stand this time, it costs as much as the head and handle, and a WRA 3 90mm. Subject to change when my name comes up.

I've heard it is back to about a year ? Anyway ... I don't know when ... or if ... I'm going to shave with anything but this bronze WR1 SB
