Okay, I just skimmed the article. I want to know why this isn't opt in instead of opt out. No one should have his or her privacy taken away unless permission is given first, not the other way around. Certainly, there should not be so many hoops to jump through.
it's not to their benefit to do it like that.
when I was setting up the wife's windows 8.1 laptop a few months back, it kept telling me I needed a windows live account to set up the user account...well, I didn't have a windows live account. hitting cancel bypassed this, but it was certainly annoying.
