This is just a teaser...

I'm just waiting for two more packages to arrive. One from Florida and one from Sheffield.

That, and I need an hour or two alone without the wife or kids. That might be the biggest challenge. If my wife only knew what was in these boxes, she would force me to sleep in the driveway (because I'm already currently sleeping on the couch). Hopefully my packages will arrive soon.

The timing of this coincides with a new job too, so I'm doubly excited. Last year was a crappy year.

For those looking for advice on how to resist acquisition disorder, I thought I had it beat...5 years without a purchase except for blades. I was (technically still am) perfectly happy with what I have. Then the wife purchased a bottle of aftershave for me for Christmas and I completely fell apart. I'm ashamed of myself. I not only fell off the wagon, I threw myself off and slammed into boulders, parked cars, and trees. And when I stood up, I got hit by a school bus.

Mods, please move this post if you feel it doesn't belong here.

FlyingDuc, I think most of us have “fallen off the wagon” (as you put it) at one point or another. Smile I, for one, am curious to see the results of your falling — in those packages. Share with us if and when you can.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

The wife is taking our daughter out to the movies on Sunday. Our 1-year old will be down for a nap, so that will be the perfect time. I can't wait. I will post pics.

Wow, its like the best Christmas ever. When you fall off the wagon you don't mess around - how nice is your driveway?

The driveway was iced over this morning. But sleeping on it tonight will be completely worth it.

I can't believe how you haven't unpacked all that stuff yet!

Sometimes I find myself still in my coat and opening packages. I don't even have the restraint sometimes to get my hat and shoes off when there's a package waiting for me when I get home.

Nice haul, FlyingDuc! It looks like you did fell pretty hard, but you've shown a lot of restraint in not opening everything up. I'm looking forward to the picts. You have my curiosity going now!

I get the putting off opening bit - its the anticipation, like when you're saving that best piece of steak on your plate for the last bite....then your teenage son leans over and snags it and its down his throat in a flashBig Grin OK, its not quite like that but the anticipation part is what I mean.

Which is why your son is now able to play competitive basketball, Marko. Big Grin

FlyingDuc, I hope you're joking about your wife not having a clue otherwise I shudder to think. Tongue
