Nope, at least not that I am aware of.

You have to be willing to pony up.

A lot.

All I can say is for me it was wort it, just to cross it off the list.

I'd still take the Timeless, irrespective of price, but 17-4 is probably my next favorite.

Loot at the ATT H1 and H2 if someone wants aggressive razors. They are available. The Muhle R 41 is really good as well. For me they shave as good as any razor including Wolfmans and the Timeless. The charcoal goods lvl 3 OC is right at the top but the OC version is not available. Luckily I have one so I don't have to pick between the CG and the ATT H series. But if you get the H2 or the Muhle R41 you are not really missing anything.

I’m saying the Rockwell 6s. I’ve got several razors. Not the Karve, Timeless or Blackbird but Wolfman WR1, ATT OC and many more. After getting the Rockwell 6s I stopped buying razors.

"After getting the <insert razor name here> I stopped buying razors" always gets my attention!

That said, I love my Timeless SS and Karve OC razors.  Also, I have heard such consistently good reports about the stainless steel Game Changer .84 that for 55 bucks, I just "had" to pull the trigger.  Fifty Five dollars has its own appeal. The all stainless Rockwell 6S, at $100, has much of the same draw.

Ok, to be fair, I have bought a few razors since acquiring the Rockwell but none of them have shaved as nice as the Rockwell 6s. The beauty of the Rockwell 6s is how it shaves (it’s certainly not it’s looks because it’s a bit of a homely thing) and it’s flexibility - 6 blade “settings”. There’s something for everyone and every mood.

I’m sure there are other razors out there that are every bit as good or maybe better, I just don’t feel the need to look for them. At this time Big Grin

As someone who tried (almost) every razor out there in last 3 years, I can tell you what you already know - you don't need to get anything, whatever you get, won't be better than Rockwell. While I don't mention 6S as one of my favorites (because of looks and weight, primarily weight), I could use it for the rest of my life and have 0 regrets. I often think about going your route and simplify at least one aspect of the hobby - razors. Maybe one day I will.

This is an impossible question to answer as every answer is subjective. The best advice, if you want to save money, is to buy an inexpensive DE razor and if you are happy with it, then stop buying any further razors; just enjoy the one you have. Shy
Good luck.

Out of the razors I’ve tried the older one blade is probably close to the best.

Out of the razors that are currently available and usually in stock, I'd have to say Timeless. Whether the bronze razor or their regular line, they're all great and can hold their own against the "unobtainiums".

After modest pause: cue maniacal laughter.

Seriously though, while this is the best advice it’s proven difficult in practice.
