Traditionnel v. (Le Père Lucien) lemon, rosemary, thyme, lavender, eucalyptus

This is my third day with Traditionnel, and the shaves keep getting better and better. The lather has become thicker and much more protective, while the slickness remains exceptional. Odd thing is, even though I’m loading for a full minute and making mounds of thick lather, the puck doesn’t look like I’ve touched it at all. This soap comes in a 7 oz. tin. At the current rate of consumption, I could likely use Traditionnel each morning from now until Easter without hitting bottom. With a lifespan like that, I can see why it's called 'traditional'.

LPL soaps are made in Argenty, a small agricultural town in the dead center of France.

I wanted to master the lathering of each soap and to learn its particular nuances. And one of these nuances was that certain soaps respond well to repeated consecutive use. Saponificio Varesino Opuntia is one of those – it lathers more easily when used day after day.

Thanks for your comments, Southsider. I can see how repeated use, day after day, can help you understand your soap better. But now you've got me wondering why you gave up using the three-day approach. Are there some hidden pitfalls?

2nd day with Harris Marlborough and I have not noticed any change in the loading or lather.  Granted, it resides in a wooden tub in a very low humidity high desert so perhaps it'll dry out to bone-dry in the 24hrs it is waiting but I've never felt it needed help anyway.  Love love love Harris scents as they are not too powerful but linger in the finish.

A lot less spicy and a lot more soapy than I would have guessed. Still, a good soap which I picked up mainly for travel purposes. Good protection which I think works better with less water. Less is more? Time will tell. [Image: 2e4aabb77884703d41a88e4e52fabe3e.jpg]
