The other thing I really like about ATT is their parts are interchangeable.  They’re also modifying blade angles on this model so this is a new offering.  We can all debate how “innovative” it is, but to me that’s non-sequitur.  Some “artisans” seemingly like to talk about how “innovative” they are - good for them, whatever makes you think you’re special.  These ATT guys are not forum hounds that look to influence demand for their razors.  And they certainly don’t talk about what they think of other razor brands/makers - they’re above that.  They just make great razors, and let their products speak for themselves.

You know not of what you speak in your thinly veiled criticism of me. ATT has long been my inspiration and my business couldn’t exist without them. I’ve met Stan and loved speaking with him. He’s a wonderful guy and ATT is a wonderful company. I’ve easily guided dozens of customers to ATT when I felt that their razors were a better fit than mine were. I believe in growing the pie and not getting a larger piece for myself. There’s nobody more I’d like to be successful than them. For what it’s worth, I don’t think I’m innovative. I make razors. But I do think wet shaving companies thrive when they constantly push new products and drive forward and I’m skeptical that price is the limiting factor. I’m entitled to my educated opinion and being a business won’t prevent me from sharing it. Next time please just address me directly or, better yet, request clarification if you feel I’ve spoken improperly.
In my profession, one generally doesn't make seemingly critical remarks about another professional or their business in a public forum, particularly if said business was my inspiration owned by a now retired gentleman that blazed a trail for me.  Your words, not mine:
"The real reason that ATT isn't as popular as it used to be is because they haven't actually released anything new or innovative in years."  "ATT hasn't had a hit since the SE1 came out years ago. In fact, they haven't really even tried.”
I don't know Stan personally or professionally, I just like some of his razors and how he ran his business.  And I'm not looking to start a war of words; clearly there are monumentally bigger issues to ponder in the world today.  I just thought your comments were a bit brazen in a post about a competitor's new razor release, so I too was just expressing my opinion.  And now I'm done. . . but for your closing remark:  Next time I'll. . . well. . .  do as I decide, thanks.

I think you misunderstand and that’s okay. I wasn’t trying to be brazen. I want ATT to thrive. I think we we can agree on that. For what it’s worth, I’ll be buying one. Smile

This thread is about the upcoming ATT Windsor Pro and while the ATT business model is certainly worthy of comment its best, given the current charged environment, not to dwell on that point.  Lets also refrain from personal attacks on any member or artisan/vendor/razor manufacturer as well please.

Back in 2016 I was predominantly a straight razor shaver, and had been for years. At the same time I was a collector of slant (twisted head) razors, and if I did occasionally shave with a safety razor it was with one of those.

Somewhere in there stainless safety razors started being manufactured but that didn't interest me because of the high prices, and they were standard razors. Then I heard about the ATT S1 and S2 stainless slant SB & OC.

So even though they were kind of expensive they were slants and I went for them. I know it was 2016 because they are marked under the base plate with the year.

I bought both heads and expected to prefer the OC, but turned out I like the SB better. They both shave very well, but there is just some subtle difference that I prefer in the SB, I can't even say what it is.

Those ATT slants opened the Pandora's Box to my turning from straights to artisan safety razors. Another ATT that I ended up going for was the SE 1. My friend Obie had raved about it and curiosity got the best of me. With the Feather Pro blade it is an awesome shaver, and hits the sweet spot between overly aggressive and mild. IOW, for my particular face just right.

I don't see myself going for a Windsor Pro but I'm looking hard at that H1. I like aggressive razors.  Smile

It appears to me that when Stan retired and left so did the innovation of ATT

Just noticed ATT is having a sale. The "Windsor Pro" in polished SS is $60. Seems like a pretty good deal, I picked one up to give it a try as I haven't used an ATT razor before.

I got one of the SS and 1 Aluminum too because supposedly the AL has just a tad bit more blade exposure.
