This is discussed a bit in the Timeless Bronze thread but thought I’d call it out as a separate topic.

I have a 95 stainless scallaoped SB and freakin love it! It honestly gives super efficient shaves with zero irritation for me. Only slight gripe - I shave daily and I find if I use for, say, 7 or 10 shaves in a row it can start being to many close shaves in a row and a sensitive spot on face can start to puff up and/or get in-grown hairs.

When the Bronze came I thought it might be the perfect thing to give my face a break. I’ve been finding it not efficient enough for me and harsher than 95... observed by feedback from alum.

My possible cure is to trade back my Bronze to our friends at Timeless in exchange for a 68 OC base plate to use with the stainless.

Any thoughts on this? Especially from those that have tried both and prefer the original Timeless head design as I seem to?

I have no answers, just a question: does less efficient but harsher mean you had to do more passes and/or buffing? Was it actually harsher for the same number of strokes?

Good question. I think it’s a bit of a combination... problem is the shave isn’t up to my standards with the Bronze if I copy exactly what I do the 95. So then I do some extra work... some harshness might come from that.

I have the SS OC 0.95 and love it. I had the Bronze SB and found it too mild and not efficient. Today, I have the Bronze OC and find it too aggressive: great shaver but a few irritations along. I will trade it also. Finish still is fantastic but shave experience doesn’t echo Timeless philosophy and benefits settled by the SS range.

So I took the Wilkinson Sword Blade out of my Bronze and transferred to 95 scallaoped SB this morning. The stainless brought a better shave with less irritation by a noticeable amount. I feel like my technique was not significantly different from my shave with the Bronze yesterday.

I think my face and my technique might like the stainless head design better.

Now I wonder if I should go for a 68 OC plate or “blow my brains out,” and add 95 titanium of some description?? Ha ha !

Do you also have 95 Timeless? How does the 68 compare for you to it and the Bronze in terms of efficiency and comfort?

I don’t have the .95 but I did have the SB Bronze and the .68 is much more efficient with little blade feel and very comfortable for daily shaves. I just bought the .68 OC and had it for a week and I’m really enjoying it. I get zero irritation with the .68, I do get a few minor nicks but I’m sure after a few more shaves with the .68 OC I’ll have that sorted out. It’s a great razor and I think it’s what your looking for.

I don’t have a Timeless Bronze, but I did recently pick up a .68 OC Baseplate. I have an .95 OC that I love and get great shaves with, but if I use it for several days in a row my skin starts to become irritated. Enter the .68 OC, and it was just what I was looking for. I’ve been using Feathers in the .68 OC, and this combination is SMOOOOTH! I’m able to get BBS with three passes and some touch up under my jaw line. My shaves don’t last as long with the .68, but it definitely fits the bill when my skin is feeling sensitive.
