I posted a quote somewhere on DFS a little while ago and while I can’t recall the source at the moment it went “a person who works with their hands is a tradesman. A person who works with their hands and their head is a craftsman. A person who works with their hands, their head and their heart is an artisan.” I think Ben Esposito of House of Mammoth is an artisan.
Despite the fact that I don’t care for leather in a scent I’ve got a House of Mammoth Almond and Leather on the way. My main objection to leather is that it’s often wielded with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. What I’ve experienced with Mood Indigo and Hygge leads me to believe (hope) that Almond and Leather will be equally masterfully blended and probably won’t assault my senses like a tannery or an old cowboy’s saddle. I’ll post my thoughts once I’ve experienced it.
