Also, regarding the soap base and older formulas. I'd stress to anyone to try the Tusk base before making a long term perspective on the soap itself. It's a much improved base and truly is top notch and I don't throw that around much.

Ben addressed the whole sold out problem and how and why he collaborated with Chicago Soap Co/Oleo.  One guy and his wife with a bucket on the kitchen table just can't produce enough product to meet demand.  And then there's the whole negativity thing from people who are POd they can't get product.

Thanks for this WeeScott  - I'll check it out on Youtube - I'm only able to find a single episode of the The RazorBurn on apple podcasts - one with Max Sprecher.  Not sure what's going on.  Maybe they only did one podcast and decided to go video on YouTube .

Ok, I listened to the episode on YouTube. Not sure why I couldn’t get that as an audio only podcast but ok. Yeah that was quite the grumble session, while Ben was fairly candid in his comments, he wasn’t quite as blunt. Interesting for sure.

Ive stopped worrying about the technical glitches that are so frequent these days.  I did think that the format of the video was more suited to an audio only podcast as it was just three screens within the main screen with three artisans staring at their webcams.  Kind of a waste of band width although Will did move once or twice.  I listen to podcasts when I'm driving or walking and when its a YouTube video I have to sit and watch

OK, I got around to trying Mammoth Hygge today.  Wow.  Its very, very good.  Its maybe the slickest soap I've ever used.  Lathers up thick and rich and shiny , you don't need to load a lot and it'll take a lot of water too.  Scent is very nice and subtle.  The post shave is thicker than a milk, more like a runny yogurt in consistency and goes on nicely and absorbs leaving no greasy feeling.  Again, subtle, very nice scent.  I think Ben Esposito and House of Mammoth has hit this  tusk base out of the park and his blending of scent is nice.  I only have Hygge and Mood Indigo and I really like both of them.

I was on the fence on Mammoth - I'd been hearing about them since they got going but I wasn't paying attention because I couldn't get any.  Two things happened to knock me off the fence.  The Lather Talk Podcast and Top of The Chain stocking it.  How could I not?  So happy I did.  Happy2

I'm to see this thread because I was wondering about Mammoth soap Tusk.
Sounds like it's pretty nice soap with a nice soap with a great post shave.
I don't know if there's enough of it out find out people's favorite scents?

I’ve only tried Hygge and Mood Indigo and find them to be a soft, subtle and very nice but they are very similar so I’d say pick one or the other. I’m hoping to be able to comment on Almond and Leather scent shortly. Ordinarily I’m not a leather fan but Ben has such a light hand with the fragrances that I figured I’d take a chance. I haven’t tried any others

Did we grumble? I honestly haven't watched it and don't remember that well. Sorry to hear that we were off-putting; sometimes, it's easy to get caught in the idea of "honesty" and go a little over-board.

Agreed that Mood Indigo is excellent and the Tusk base equally so. I purchased the full set after someone suggested that we do a blueberry oud fragrance. I had no idea that Mood Indigo incorporated those features, so I ordered some in order to make sure that I don't step on Ben's toes if I opt to experiment with the idea. It's wonderful stuff.
