I just wanted to add a different perception.

I'm aware that the expenses within the country are lower in terms of dollars, I was talking about what he imports into your country in my second to last post.

I understand why you want to defend your country's vendor. I was hoping that you could also see the consumer's perspective outside TR.

All the best,

By deleting all you comments, you made it difficult to everyone to get the point and also made me look like I was talking with myself lol.

Smile Sorry about that. I just feel bad. I am discussing here about economy. It was nice discussing anyway.
Many members are coming here to get relax and enjoy with their razors.
Really thanks for your time and your effort to explain me the subject.

Guys, don’t delete your comments. Say what you say and move on. The thing I appreciate is all of the knowledge and camaraderie from all of you. I think everyone has valid points and that is what these forums are for. We all have specific talents which allows us to purchase a lot of this stuff. We all have different opinions and priorities. It is not my place to tell someone to buy something or not to buy something. I appreciate true talent and ingenuity and i think there are only a few true razor makers that have that on the high end right now. Murat is a genius in his designs and I think he can charge whatever he wants. If someone doesn’t want to purchase something that he makes, that is their choice to make.

The economy is the economy, it will globally work itself out, it always does.

Participation, Opinions, Commentary.....are vital to the DFS community. Many people join here for 1 reason only: “access to our BST.” There you have it, I said what everyone is thinking. Besides, you know what they say about opinions?

This shaving hobby “is” a really FUN, enjoyable, and EASY hobby. The engineers that create these razors are brilliant.  They should be compensated based upon their valuations. What’s a decent Patek Philippe go for? I think Murat can charge what he thinks is fair for his work. Not everyone will own a Patek or a Rocnel.

NOW, CLOSE YOUR EYES...We sit around an iPad waiting for a noon mountain time brush drop in the hopes of a 28mm Samurai Phantasia; when it’s there and in your cart it’s a cool feeling knowing your credit card worked! We ALL like nice things, this is a pretty easy hurry up and wait hobby.  Patience and you’ll get what you want. NOW, OPEN YOUR EYES ......and pretend your hobby is.....CARS![Image: Mdid1gu.jpg]

In February of 2018, being a sucker for adjustables, I bought the first Sailor. I enjoyed the razor a good bit. Unfortunately, about the same time, I became obsessed with a Wolf. That mania led me to sell quite a few very good razors. The 2018 Sailor was one.

As documented in this thread, in the past few months I bought the 2019 and the 2020 prototype.

The 2019 solved my main gripe with the 2018, I just could not open it up enough. Its design is a little different in that it can be disassembled easily by the user...and the adjustment dial has an Eject feature. If you rotate it to Eject and dont know what to expect, parts may fly across the room. I know firsthand because I did exactly that within 30 seconds of having it out of the box.

Opened up, the 2018 and the 2019 are a face full of blade akin to a 2011 R41 or an iKon Tech. The difference is those Sailors gives a much more solid feel to them...and they can be dialed back to be quite smooth.

The 2020 prototype is massive. Taller dome and it really smooths out the blade feel. It cuts closer than either of the younger siblings and is much more mild mannered in it's demeanor.

Anyway...I recently purchased another 2018 from my new Italian friend Giuliano @Blue Note to complete the collection of all Sailor models.

I'm told Murat is working on the 2020 production model. He has been teasing it a little bit on IG. Overall size reduction and weight loss is supposed to be in the final design. I just hope the shave characteristics don't suffer like the Janus must have from prototype to production. I am anxious to find out tho.

Here is the trio. These are the first photos. I'll try to get some better ones later.

Omnia transeunt et id etiam transeat
I recently ordered Sailor 2019 from Murat. I asked him about Sailor 2020. He said that the only difference is the engraving in the razor.

He told me the production model would be a little different. Primarily knurling.

More recently, he told a friend it would be smaller and lighter. Maybe he will chime in when he reads this, if he does. Actually, I just read the text again. I was told lighter (not necessarily smaller), with some tweaks to aesthetics.

Time will tell.

I'm glad he is updating the knurling. I think it is the one glaring weakness of the 2019. The machine marks in between the nubs or whatever they are called does not look finished. This has me excited for the 2020 version if it clears this up.
