Like a stupid freaking idiot I tried to adjust the stupid thing before even using it. Very sad and disappointed right now. All those months of anticipation ending like this because of my idiotic effort to fix a brand new yet imperfect product. Phooey phooey fudge fudge.

Shave two with the same Bic Chrome Platinum and just as easy and smooth as yesterday’s. Went with setting 6 for the whole shave and it was mild yet still efficient enough for a full days worth of whisker growth. Felt better in the hands on this second go around with good tactile feel. No worries at all with this razor slipping out of the hands due to wet hands or lather running everywhere. Two shaves in and I consider myself pleasantly surprised at the quality of shaves and the actual build and ease of use of the razor.

I’ll deal with the proper orientation of the dial adjuster further on down as I don’t tend to get stuck on those things. Don’t get me wrong, it is a valid point that the razor should have been assembled properly as to avoid any issues such as the one above me (yikes!) and for some improper numbering alignment can be a bit of a peeve and that’s understandable. 

But, so far I’ve enjoyed these two first shaves immensely. Great shaves to all…

Just in the door from work and 2 seconds has it right where it should be now. Easy flip and now spins 1 rotation around to 6 again as it should.

I followed the video posted by Heritage where the guy put the plate in a vise and twisted. I applied too much pressure to the cylinder when attempting to twist it, cracking and destroying it. I'll ask if the part is replaceable, but I doubt there is any extra parts inventory.

I didn't see that video. I just loosened the handle and the dial and turned the base plate 180 degrees and retightened everything. NO ONE should have to go to the lengths you did with a new razor. I can't believe that's what he recommended. He should send you another.

So Dave you didn't even have to take the adjuster ring off just just loosened it up (handle also) and turn the base plate 180 degrees?
