Mine was on the N setup too.
I was monkeying around with this silly thing a couple of ways and it appears to be starting on 6-1-2-3-4-5-6-1 it's off and a 8 speed. I've spun the adjuster bottom plate 180 degrees it starts on
6-1-2-3-4-5-6-1 or N depending on the base plate orientation.
If I fip the dial ring upside down it's the same thing either starting on N or the ole 6-1-2-3-4-5-6-1 routine.
Yours needs a hard reboot.
If I have as much trouble assembling mine correctly, it will get PIFd before it ever gets used.

I'm in!
And the Ctrl+Alt+Del made me smile. Good times!

This is from all the way up 1st picture past #1 and ends up on #6
2nd picture is all the way down past #1 and ending on #6.
Shave all the way up except for a bit of sideways ATG on the neck and it was N or 4 as mine goes. Great shave and enjoyable.
This razor is so close to being a grand slam but at this point I think it's a 3rd base hit. I so hope they will work the bugs out and keep producing them. Heritage had some real setbacks at this project. Shaves great!

I may be going ATG here but I had my first shave with the razor and it was on 6 days growth. I used setting 6 for the first pass and it had no issues taking down my growth. Brought it down to setting N for the XTG pass in this 2 pass shave as I was definitely not going for a BBS as I just received another razor I want to try so want a fast regrowth.
Anyway the fix was easy. Mines on 6 and it's working fine. The razor seems less head heavy as the Original Gibbs and not having to modify a blade is what attracted me to this razor and the reason I sold mine. Now my friend who bought mine is going to send mine back to me as I want to do a side by side comparison to an original just for the heck of it.

You should try it. It is a pretty good razor. I used it #9 for 5 days growth, it is super efficient and easy to use.
Used mine for the 1st time tonight. I decided not to fix it and just shaved on the "N". I loaded it with a new GSB and ended up doing a 3-pass shave with typical cleanup for a really nice shave. There was some slight irritation along the neck but I'm attributing that to user-error rather than the razor (I've been using my 6S and Overlander for so long, I'm used to applying a little more pressure). Overall, i'm really happy with the purchase. For now, I have no plans to fix the dial. I get why others would want to but if it shaves this good for me, why mess with a good thing
A good shave this morning with the Heritage Gibbs Replica. Did the quick change of the dial and rotated the adjuster plate 180°. I will state that it is not necessary to make the change as it is just for visual correctness and nothing more. It shaves exactly the same gents. This is my 5th shave with it and they have all been near flawless. Blade rigidity is good enough for me and yes, there are numerous other razors that hold the blade with vise like strength that offer superior rigidity with zero blade deflection. However, I think that the Heritage Gibbs Replica will work quite well with the majority of shavers except perhaps those with the densest and thickest of beards. Not saying that those with hair growth that is thicker can't achieve a good quality shave with this razor, it just might require a bit more work to achieve those desired results.
All in all, it's an excellent razor with very near identical attributes to the legendary original French creation at an affordable price. Build quality is good and one does not need to modify a blade as with the OG to enjoy a comparably good shave that is near if not identical to the Iconic Gibbs Reglable.
Great shaves to all....
