Eric, I'm glad that you and other guys too, feel that DFS is a place where you can share the ups and downs of life with a supportive group of friends.  None of us is immune to the fact that sometimes its harder than usual for all kinds of reasons.  I think the creation of the journal threads has helped develop closer connections among members, at least some of us.  As mods we've worked hard to try to make/keep DFS an enjoyable experience that can serve the needs an interests of a diverse group.  There are guys who are just starting out, some who have been at it for a while and those whose only interest is in BST or SOTD but I do see a growing group of guys connecting on more than just shaving and forming tighter friendships.  I think thats great.  It makes me feel like we're actually doing something that can make a difference in some small way.  Happy2

Hey Marko! Thanks for the support! And I agree, the Journals do provide an excellent place for just talking. I think Dave in KY got us going here.

I have been a member of DFS since late 2015. I've seen it ebb and flow. And when I enjoyed it the most has been whenever we just talked, about anything, but usually shaving.

I believe that DFS is one of the best sites, and that is both members and mods.

Eric, I appreciate your kind words.  As I said above, we try to keep it an enjoyable and respectful forum.  None of the Mods nor the Admin, Andrew has any "skin in the game" as far as commercial interests that I'm aware of but are just regular guys talking about mostly shaving.  You're correct in that it was Dave in KY who got this Journal thing going - thanks Dave.  Happy2

You're welcome - its guys like you that make a place like DFS.  We discussed the pros and the cons and figured there were more pros than cons so let it run and see what happens.  Its worked out well.  There hasn't been a single con actually happen.  As Eric said, in the journal threads you can talk about what ver yiou want without worrying about derailing an existing thread or having to take your discussion to another thread.  No pressure, great idea.

A Heinz post, just to catch up.    [groan  Cool ]

I have been having some wonderful shaves with the Overlander loaded with a Nacet blade. Smooth operator, it is. (me, not so much.) No chasing babies but results that are right there with the baby chasers! By this time of the week, I am usually eying next week and anticipating a change. Not so this week; instead, I found myself considering going another week with the Overlander!

But that is not to be. I am participating in the Twig and Thorn pass around managed by DanLaw (I think this is my first pass around ever!) and USPS shows them out for delivery! So come Monday (or Sunday if I get antsy) I will be trying out these half-blade razors (also new to me, using only half of a DE blade. I hope to keep all my fingers attached when I snap a blade!).

Off to work now. Friday, the beginning of my work weekend. Oh joy.  Rolleyes Nah, it is all good. The price I pay for every other weekend off is working the alternates. And we have a good support staff so it is often a fun time.

Good day to you all!

Snap the blade while it is wrapped. Reach out if you want a video of the procedure

Looking forward to your thoughts on the razors. Just leave the blades in the wrapper when you snap them and you'll be fine !

Edit DanLaw beat me to it
