Hi Gus

Thanks my friend!

I know you backed it up and I'm going to have a good talk with Eric either tomorrow or Friday and as far as losing this great combo of smoothness and efficiency I'm going to drive that message home to him and I'm pretty stoked to see the new production images he's sending me. I'll post them up as soon as I get it. Since you backed up this razor from the start I'll recommend he send you a prototype to shave with as you always do excellent non bias reviews. I think this razor should be in some sort of a pass around as it really outperformed my expectations today. My face still feels like a freaking balloon lol

Oh and he's going to offer a 30 day money back warranty as a bonus. I'm putting my pledge in tomorrow morning and it may be to late for his KS program but at least I'll try as I liked it that much!

Wait no Rock and Roll emoji LOL

I’ve always enjoyed your write ups and thorough reporting amigo. A pass around would be an outstanding idea on the Janus razor prototype. Just to get a feel for something that has the potential to be a good razor (albeit be an expensive one) that can potentially last a few lifetimes and be heirloom quality is a definite must try. Hopefully you can pull some strings there Frank, the founder just might be up for it.

Happy shaves brother....

Thanks brother and I'll run it by Eric when I talk to him. I think he has also got some kind of a send in program where you can send it back after a year for a tune up or something like that I'll have to clarify that with him.

All the best my friend!

Just got to the write up. So it’s that good per your impressions which carries some weight given all your shave off reports. I’ll be following this thread for the next 20 or so days. Thanks Frank

For example I shaved with a Le Coq that a member sent me. I didn't think at the time that some old French razor would be blow me away in Tester28's words but that little razor was very efficient and almost equal to the top of the heap ones but it's an extremely smooth razor and also maybe the most manuverable DE razor I've ever shaved with and I'm still trying to find one and yes they are hard to find but not expensive. I do not judge a razor by Brand, Cost high or low, where it's made or if it looks similar to some other razor. I judge them all based on their performance on my face!

Neither here nor there but I was in the mood for an evening head shave and had your comment in mind so brought out the Le Coq Caged Head (I have the rare solid bar as well). It's pretty amazing that a razor like this even exists given I don't imagine there were that many shaving enthusiasts who would have appreciated it when it was produced. I think the solid bar is even more impressive by the way.

Back to your regular program :-) .[Image: 3f7afdef6f3386778d0699a35b626e3a.jpg]

OMG that Frenchie “cage” head looks like a medieval torture device. How smooth is it or does it remove all the skin and deeper layers ?

Hehe it's the anti-Christ if mild razors are your thing alright. Being almost a shavette It takes an extremely light touch but it's not hard to manage, I had a drama free head shave. Smoother than the Ikon Tech which I don't enjoy using on my head.

Nice review Frank. Quite interesting. I love the Gibbs and this sounds like a great adjustable razor. Now to consider the KS backing that looks like a challenge to make in 20 days. To make I hope Eric got a vendor table at Maggards and will be recruiting there with people that can at least get their hands on the razor, even though they won't get to shave with it. Could be perfect timing in the final days of his campaign. It's definitely the perfect audience.

Jared it's a very efficient razor but for me it's a lot smoother and because it's so light it's also very manuverable. I've been trying to find one but they are hard to find. the French auction site is the best place to look.
