oversaturn, I added you to the list.

andrewjs18  Yeah, I got it in Wednesday afternoon.

Had my first shave Saturday with it, and I really like it so far. Has a solid feel in the hand. Could be a little heavier for my liking, but so far I'm enjoying it.

Totally agree with everyone else's thoughts so far on the mildness. I get irritation very easily, and this is the first DE that I can use on ATG passes with no issues at all. Still got a good close shave, but no pain. I see the plating wear already on the corners of the head and the underside which are unfortunate, since it's still a very new razor. I do like the look of the blue though.

Going to have maybe one more shave with it before I need to give it up to the next person, since I don't shave every day. That said, I'm very close to ordering one of my own, I just wish the anodizing held up better since I like the colored look.

thanks!

Had my second shave last night with the Seygus. Did my first complete three pass shave since I started DE shaving. Even my really sensitive trouble spots didn't give me any issues. Had a tiny bit of pink show up on my neck, but after some Witch Hazel and a couple of minutes it disappeared. I'm still very smooth from the shave this morning which is something that rarely happens. I purposefully shaved a little sooner than normal to see what the results would be, and I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

Noticed that in the original pics that Andrew put up, I can see the spot on the end of the head where the finish is missing. So it looks as if it's been there since the razor was produced and not knocked off during the pass around. The wear on the bottom plate where the handle screws in is new though. Hopefully that means that the finish is a bit sturdier than I originally thought, especially since I'm coming very close to ordering one for myself. Happy2

As the international (red) Seygus is now on its way to the next participant on the list I will summarize my experience with the razor.

First of all it is a great looking razor. I really like the different colours, metals and designs that have been available. The razor is on the light side for me but the middle section balances it nicely, even though I do not particularly like the look of it together with the rest of the razor.

When using it it is, as very many already have mentioned, a really mild razor. However I got good results when using sharp new blades. Not as good as with the slightly more aggressive ones but definitely passable. I also had to do a lot more touch ups.
A problem that I had with the razor was its inability to 'pick up' soap. It felt and looked like the soap stayed on the skin with the second stroke and it felt like the razor 'floated on top' and did not cut the hair. I had to rinse the razor more often than I do with others to get down to the skin.

Would I buy one? Yes, possibly so.  Especially if they would make an OC or a different design that would better take care of the soap. It is a great razor for quick shaves as there is almost no risk for cuts or nicks with passable results. I really like the brass versions I have seen and that would be my choice should I decide on buying one.

Thanks for making this pass around possible!

i have to add to this i got the full brass version with the barberpole handle today and it has an awesome finish! it is super polished and looks fantastic. and even though i have said this is not a bbs razor for me. it is a great dfs one and i do like it. this one is a bit heavier then the aluminum one and i love the handle. will shave with this tonight and see how it compares to the aluminum version. only negative is the packaging was bad. luckily there was no damage but the whole razor came out of the metal tin and was sliding around the bubble mailer. so hopefully he can work on that.

Hi Andrewjs18 thought you should know were it is at the mo. Will let you know when I send it on as well.
My first thoughts of razor, light even with the weight on. It's is a mild razor once you find the angle. Not a great shave but a good one. The handle is a bit thin for me as well. Will give my final verdict in a week. I have also put it on show in the SOTD thread.

Sorry guys, forgot to post yesterday that I received the blue razor safe and sound from drjenkins yesterday despite the cheap tin that's already dented up. I have shaved with it twice so far and have to echo most of the comments already made. I'll save my full thoughts for the end of the week!

Well here is my review of the Red Seygus razor.
First impressions is good, I like the tin it came in, nice touch. I like the fact it comes in different colours.
The build and finish is good & the workmanship is of a good quality. I like the design of the head safety bar, kind of between a closed & open comb as the grooves in the bar are deep which helps bring the shave soap to the skin better. Its a shame its a mild razor. If it was a bit more aggressive this would be a great head. The handle is too thin for me & too light, even with the top weight on. The handle design I Like as it gave a good grip, but it would be better if it was thicker, longer & heavier. I did swap the handle with my ATT Kronos & it made my shave easier with the extra weight & thickness. I found the Kai blades & Feather Blades work best in this razor. Blade fitment & alinement is good, no problems there.
Now would I buy this razor, No its not for me, its too mild, too light & short. Its a good looking razor but not functional for me.
Make the head more aggressive, the handle more heavier, thicker, longer & one piece then Yes I would. Overall 5 out of 10. For me.
Thanks for letting me using & reviewing this razor.
Will be posting out Thursday to next DFS'er
