first shave in with the seygus today. ill wait for a few more shaves before posting my final thoughts but i agree this is a VERY MILD razor. i dont think i could have cut myself if i tried to. the only drawback to that was i could not get a super close bbs shave no matter what i did with it. i even tried up to 5 passes. on the other hand even after 5 passes there was ZERO irritation and i did still get a nice dfs type shave. only thing was it doesnt last for me very long when i dont get super close. overall so far i really like the razor a lot and thing for me this would be an awesome razor to use when i have to shave quickly or am running out of the house because i can buzz right over my face and not even have a care in the world about it biting me or causing any irritation. only other thing i can note is some of the coating was already coming off when i got it. very small spots but they are there and the silver underneath does show through. so for me my ideal version would be either raw aluminum with maybe a clear anodize or polished (no chrome i hate chrome personally). overall very nice build quality and the only small flaws i noticed were on the small handle extension but they are very very minor otherwise besides the coating it built VERY well. i will for sure be buying one or more of the upcoming brass versions for sure now.

Nice write up, that's one of the reasons why I went with the brass polished version, no coating degrading to worry about, no stains to worry about and no rust. I have never used Seygus razor so I don't know how aggressive it is. What I do know I watched the video on YouTube regarding the brass razor and the guy said it feels like medium when it comes to aggressiveness but it's also very efficient. Maybe the brass heads a tad bit more aggressive than the aluminum models? I'll post my opinion after it arrives and I get few shaves with it

I look forward to getting one as well. Stainless Steel would be ideal but that is not an option that is on the table right now. I have never owned a brass razor so that could be a nice departure from the usual.

Today I got the red version in good order. It looks great and I am actually surprised that it felt a little heavier than I anticipated. I now realise that the 'mid-section' is not aluminum Smile . The grip feels great as well. It will be really interesting to test it tomorrow morning.

Where are we at with the US razor? Haven't seen any updates in a minute...

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like mastershake has it.

lets see who is next on the list and ill get it out by friday. im out of town until then but i brought it with me for the week as my travel razor and honestly i really like this one. ill be back thurs night and get it boxed up and ready to go.

so some final thoughts:

its MILD very very MILD. as i said before and i stand by it this thing would seriously be hard to cut yourself with you would have to try hard or literally just be shaving like a madman. it is however pretty darn efficient. i still cant get a full bbs shave with this no matter how i try. it just leaves some stubble in a few places that doesnt matter how many times i shave that spot it doesnt get any closer. i am talking about a TINY bit of very close stubble you basically can not even see but feel if you run your hand over it. i do consistently get a really nice dfs shave though with this. and its so mild that going against the grain is like nothing at all. my skin laughs at it. and that says A LOT because i have a lot of trouble atg with many razors if im not extra careful with them. this goes against the grain just as easy as going with it and i get ZERO yes ZERO irritation from this thing. thats pretty awesome. i used a handful of different blades (uk personna, silver blue, feather, perma sharp, a med prep, and lastly a voskhod) honestly they all worked great except the feather, imo this razor and the feather are not the best match, i personally preff the more smooth blades in it like a uk personnna or perma sharp but they almost all worked excellent. the handle is nice but not my personal favorite. i pref it with the added small weighted piece they provide the handle without that piece is much to light.

i will be buying one or maybe 2 of them. i do wish the finish was a bit more durable it does seem to chip easily at least on this one i have here. but overall this is one of the easiest razors i have ever shaved with.

andrewjs18  Yeah, I got it in Wednesday afternoon.

Had my first shave Saturday with it, and I really like it so far. Has a solid feel in the hand. Could be a little heavier for my liking, but so far I'm enjoying it.

Totally agree with everyone else's thoughts so far on the mildness. I get irritation very easily, and this is the first DE that I can use on ATG passes with no issues at all. Still got a good close shave, but no pain. I see the plating wear already on the corners of the head and the underside which are unfortunate, since it's still a very new razor. I do like the look of the blue though.

Going to have maybe one more shave with it before I need to give it up to the next person, since I don't shave every day. That said, I'm very close to ordering one of my own, I just wish the anodizing held up better since I like the colored look.
