as long as it's civil and doesn't break any forum rules, it's generally ok.

I appreciate everyones responses to my question, but I still don't get it. I'm a very cynical guy, and I've learned throughout my life that money is quite the motivator for all sorts of behavior. Having said that, how do the mods, or one in particular, benefit from protecting Wolfman razors? And what sense does it make to remove a thread pointing out that a guy on Ebay is making fun of the Wolfman frenzy?

Because it opens the door to criticism (unfair IMO) of James' low output, QQ about the waiting list, and the very true point that certain TSN members have probably a dozen Wolfman razors including new ones received in the last month. Many view James as "their guy" and you don't want to see people ripping on your friend.

I don't know about TSN but most forums have a "no eBay link" rule. Even if the link is a joke it would still violate

the best bet would be to ask on the offending forum(s) why they do what they do. Big Grin

This I understand, protect your buddy, regardless of the criticism.  And as pointed out, they do benefit, since the waiting list apparently does not apply to certain "special" people.  Remember what happened to the "let them eat cake" crowd, they became very familiar with the early "slant" cut.

The last time I questioned a policy on TSN, I was told to bugger off, and the thread was locked.

Look at my post on Kav's 'The Best of the Best of the Best thread' on SN.

It wasn't one thread. They deleted two threads.

I dare them to ban me.

I hear ya. we can only speculate why a forum does what it does.

unfortunately some of us have in-depth knowledge on the way things happen on some of the forums out there.
