Recommend me an Injector?

Before pulling the trigger, read the reviews.  I typically read the 1&2 and to be honest on this item it will be hit or miss.

I also have a place to go back to if my razor is crap!  PAA has been pretty good about managing issues in the past.

I didnt know Walmart was pulling an Amazon/Ali-Express sales model, oh well times are a changin...

I ordered one for the hell of it just because it was $18.

Can't wait to hear your review.  Do you already own an L type?  It was one of the easiest injectors for me to begin with but it's been a long time since I last used one.

I've actually never used an injector before. I WAS on a spending freeze. I'm going to try and go back to it, but this was less than $20 so I couldn't resist.

Best place to get blades for this thing and what kind. I'm a NOOB when it comes to these things. It does come with one blade inserted already though.

The made in China Schick are about as good as it gets IME.  You can get them from Amazon in yellow packaging that looks like this



Occasionally, the product page may show the package back, with "made in China" on it.



However, I have ordered these from Amazon several times over the years, and not been burned (yet).

One other thing. ... I would stay away from the Schick Proline B-20s.  They are great blades and sized exactly to the injector format dimensions, but you can't use them as shipped in an injector, like the Type-L, because they ship in a cartridge that lacks an injector key - the piece that sticks out on the left of the first Amazon picture.  



I love the B-20s and use them in the Supply SE and a couple of shavettes - all razors that do not require injecting the blade.  It is possible but worky to carefully load B-20s into an empty keyed cartridge, but it is not worth it to me.

Those "Chicks" are available at some drug stores too. They're not all that cheap though. Like almost 7 bucks for 7 blades...

Agreed. Typically they are not much cheaper on Amazon unless you buy in bulk. I got the four pack (4 x 7 = 28 blades) some time back at $0.85/blade, and as I write this, the four pack is about $0.73/blade. However, the blades are thick and hold up pretty well. Really, I think it comes down for most shavers to how much they enjoy the "Schick" experience. For me, SEs and shavettes have become what I like, and the cost per shave of the blade is like the tail wagging the dog shaving budget wise.

The Proline B-20 blades are better than the yellow made in Chinese Schicks IMO. Since I have old injector magazines I just load them in one which IMO is easy to do. All you need is a toothpick to press down the spring and slide 'em in.

I've been wanting to try those B-20s but haven't got around to it. I wouldn't bother with the Personna (Ted Pella) blades. They always felt harsh to me and they have the cheap plastic blade magazine. The Chicks have always given me great shaves though so that's what I've been using.

The Proline B-20 blades are top shelf and per my experiences shave damn near exactly like the best of the NOS injector blades: Gillette Platinum Plus. HOWEVER, different injector blades favor different injector razors. The Chinese yellow box Schick blades work better in the older, i.e., more aggressive injector razors and the modern Personna (mini hair shaper, Ted Pella, etc.) work better in the later more "tame" injectors. Of course, that is for my handsome face. YMMV.

I will merely add that a Schick Proline B-20 in the vintage Schick Model M Adj. injector razor is simply nirvana. With a top tier soap if feels like you're wiping away the whiskers as there is damn near no resistance, just glide.

Tried out the injector for the first time. I had a small amount of irritation in the stache area (First time user error probably), but everything else went great. How long do blades typically last? I know there are marathon blade users, but what is typical? I am using the, "Chicks."
