I have 5 shaves in with the RS10, and I have used the A (mid aggressive plate) for 3 Shaves and the milder plate for 2. I usually prefer a more efficient razor ie Timeless .95, Charcoal Goods Level 2 or 3, Karve F plate and have never had a good shave with a Feather DE blade as I usually find it harsh. I used a Feather at the owners recommendation in the mild base and it was extremely smooth and I was able to get a 3 pass BBS. There was very little blade feel and the razor was easy to maneuver. I then used an Astra SP, Feather and finally a Kai in the A plate. The Astra was very smooth but after my normal 3 pass I still needed to do some touch ups. The Feather was just as smooth and gave me a 2 pass BBS needing only to touch up my difficult spot on each side of my Adam’s apple. Tonight I used the Kai blade and with one pass, using  my friend Franks SSSTT ATG and a touch up around my Adam’s apple I was BBS. I am a daily shaver Sun thru Thursday night and I shaved 5 consecutive days with this razor without any irritation. This is an expensive razor but the results are very impressive. I would put this razor right near the top of all my razors and it is the only one, of the ones I own, that I can use a Feather blade in comfortably. [Image: dQZzv7P.jpg]

I agree with you it was like the feather blade was made for this razor. it's so smooth and efficient in the mild plate but even more efficient and smooth with the aggressive plate. I have the similar taste as you do as I love the .95 timeless charcoal Goods level 2 and 3 and I will add the Paradigm ti1 and ti2 with the Blackbird Tatara and Rocnel Elite 2.0 to that list. The RS10 is as good as any of those razors it's not a matter of what's better than anything it's just there's a difference between each of the razors that I mentioned above

So the A plate would be close to a Lvl2 then? That would make sense because you compared the more efficient plate to the L3 and WR!86, IIRC.

I like Feathers in efficient razors and less sharp, smoother blades in very efficient razors as a general rule. Half the fun of having a stable of thoroughbreds if figuring out how they like to be ridden. Because I use a bunch of different razors I keep a variety of in use blades on the counter. maybe 4-6.

I just received my RS-10 yesterday and it is amazing. It is easily in my top 3 razors and I have Wolfman, BBS-1, Paradigm, and Rocnel razors. I would highly recommend this razor.

The king is dead, long live the king!

I usually avoid contact with vendors just due to conflict of interests. In this case I had to contact Raw Shaving Company because they don´t offer international shipping (USA and Canada only). Avi answered me immediately and he was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately he offered me only one option (FeDex) charged USD45,- more. I accepted so I think I can´t complain now, but I will never more use this option.

I received it after 9 days waiting. Presentation is by far best in business. You immediately know, you paid for some exceptional. Razor itself looks to my taste too industrial, but its very subjective. This is pretty heavy (looks lighter) and is balanced slightly towards head.

I got both baseplates. One is without sign and second is signed "A". Does letter "A" means "aggressive" or does it means like first letter less aggressive baseplate? New owner can guess because there is no explanation.

First I loaded baseplate without sign. After first strokes I found this baseplate very smooth and efficient, excellent daily razor. This baseplate is like Charcoal Goods lvl2, Karve "D" , Wolfman standart gap. There is no strong blade feel, no strong audio feedback. Great, but not such great like I expected.

Loaded "A" baseplates and after first strokes. Holy cow!!! This is unbelievable combo of efficiency and smoothness. This is Charcoal Goods lvl3 OC efficiency with lvl2 SB smoothness. I was almost BBS after first pass. This outperform every razor in this category (Wolfman .74 or Karve "F" for example). Considerable more blade feel and great audio feedback. This is my new king in this category.

This razor gave me similar shave feelings like CG, Tradere and Wolfman razors and completely different than Blackbird. Due to I am not sure if true Blackbird lovers can appreciate this razor. For true lovers of Pils or Feather AS-D2 razors, can be even less aggressive plate too much.

This razor is for me affordable without any problems so I needn´t talk about price. For this price I got best razor on market for me and I will buy RS-18 as well.

Thanks for reading.

Excellent review I love my RS10 but I love the RS 18 even more. For those who want a more mild or have two plates the RS10 is perfect since I only use the more aggressive plate with extra Glide the RS 18 is my preferred razor

I just got RS-10 few days ago ... 3 shaves .. one out of three - with A ( more aggressive ) plate ..
So far this is the most efficient razor I used since I joined wetshaving two years ago ..yes, including Timeless and Charcoal Goods ones ..
The packaging, presentation, smoothness and the overall experience is at the top
and
...Avi’s support is the best ..
This razor is two times cheaper than I paid for every of my Wolfman and Paradigm razors
Can easily replace them from any practical point of view ..
Highly recommend
Alex

Good morning all,

I was going to go and post on the review thread but there are some benefits to having all the reviews in one spot so here I am.

A word about customer service.  Fedex is the absolute worst, and they never fail to disappoint.  Avi sent my package Fedex and true to my word they started to screw things up.  Avi caught it right off the bat, sent a new one out and is trying to recover the first package as we speak.  Avi made the Fedex circus his problem, not mine.  For this I thanked him ( I have done so several times), and I happily went on my shaving way.

I ordered two plates, and I really didn’t need to, but I’m keeping both of them.  The plate labeled simply “A” appears to do just fine for me.  I’m not going to get into what it resembles, because it has probably been overstated, but I will comment about the Shave.  There are very few razors I can say gave me a BBS out of the box, even less I can say did it without any irritation.  The RS10 did it, and did it again 4 more times.  The only other razor that did that is the 17-4.  Some words to describe the razor;

Smooth,
Forgiving,
Well weighted (letting the razor do the work!),
Efficient,
Well balanced, and
Quite.

Yea, I’m keeping it.

I final word about comparing this razors to others.  If the razor works for me I keep it. Razors don’t so much compete for a position in my rotation but are added to it.  The RS10 is not displacing anything.  I’m not selling off my collection, but it is enriched by having the RS10 in the que.  “Seriously, enriched?” As I said, I have a small pool of razors that shave me extremely well within a specific envelope.  All others are sold off, or put in storage for reconsideration at a later date.

Could the RS 10 be my one forever razor?  Yes along with the small elite group of 7 I have, and would replace it if I were robbed at gunpoint or lost it in a plane crash.

Excellent job Avi and thanks for getting it to me (despite Fedex..).

I was under the impression the "A" plate was the more "aggressive" plate. Is that correct and if so does it shave like the lvl2 CG or the lvl 3?
