I agree there are some of us that really not only appreciate the fine razor that Avi put out but also the good customer service he gave to his customers. He had passion for this business of wet shaving and a true gentlemen to talk to over the phone. I know the story of what happened as do some others on here but I know I would not disclose the info that was told to me in confidence as it's not my place to make it publicly known. If Avi wants to address what took place then that's up to him. It's not because of illness or lack of sales or the cost of the razor. I can assure you those are not the reasons for the closing.

What really bothers me about this thread is when I hear about a product ( Raw Shaving razors ) that is obviously liked by just about every member who owns one or wanted one that goes out of business and some feel the need to come into the thread with negative or smart ass comments like I've seen in this thread! Yeah I don't get it and just out of pure respect for not only the business but the person behind the business why would someone do that! To me that's like kicking a guy when he's down! I mean Avi was not a swindler nor practiced poor business practices. Some members are not only saddened to hear about this but also disappointed especially if they were just about to lay out their money to get one.

Good luck Avi in whatever you do moving forward the wonderful shaving razors you created will be your legesty in the wet shaving community for years to come.

Avi was a great person to deal with. I bought a stainless RS-10, and loved it. Once I found out about the Ti version I immediately called their number and spoke with him, and I was able to get the last one. He went as far as to meet up with me to get it to me, that is SERIOUS customer service. He didn’t even hesitate for a second to meet with me. Conversing with him, he was a genuinely nice guy, and was just as enthusiastic talking about shaving in general as anyone here.

As far as the shave they provide, it is BAR NONE, and the reason why I grabbed the Ti version as well. Intuitive angle, and had next to no blade feel, yet was very efficient. The Aggressive plate was more efficient, yet very smooth, with ever so slightly more blade feel. I’ve used and or own many of the top end razors including BBS-1, and the RS-10 is at the top of list. It’s a fantastic shaver and am glad I sprung for them when I did. I will add, best of luck to anyone trying to purchase one.

It’s unfortunate he closed his doors. I don’t know why he did, and I don’t really think it’s my place to ask. If he decides he wants to share, I’d be very open to reading or hearing the reasons. I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

It's a shame to see another wet shaving related business going out of business. Good luck to those involved in their future endeavors.

Living on the edge

The owner of RAW Shaving has had some very serious allegations made against him.
It seems that prior to making razors, he was involved in some tech based startup
that he fronted on Indiegogo and Kickstarter, and that is where the trouble started.
Whether the fallout from this is what led to Raw's closure is unclear, but it isn't difficult to
connect the dots. I learned about this some time ago and TBH it played a large part in my
decision to skip this razor.

If you read the contents of these links (specially the comments section) it will all become clear.

It is indeed fortunate that no members on any shaving forum had any problems in their dealings
with this razor company. In fact most of the product and service feedback is positive which is a
silver lining.
