Anyone else, or multiple someone elses, can still put the same brush in their cart(s). Whoever initiates check-out first gets 5 minutes of protection, at least for as long as they don't abandon the check-out process. But if you step out, whatever you were trying to buy goes back into available inventory.
Sooner or later I expect things will come closer to equilibrating. We'll start working through pent-up demand and begin to build some standing inventory on the site, which will allow buyers to shop with more leisure.
Thanks to all for the support and patience. Apologies for any disappointment and frustration. We could dribble brushes into the store without fanfare or advance warning throughout the week, but I don't think that would turn out to be any better.
You know it's hard to complain really as you did state upfront how this worked as well as what to expect. I don't think a lot of shopping engines are set up for multiple people wanting the same item at the same time so there will be some difficulties. Given these circumstances I do appreciate how you guys handled this as I've been involved in other instances where things weren't done fairly and rules were changed midstream. I think you handled this about as well as you possibly could have.
I think the notifications and information you shared upfront was extremely helpful and professionally done. Thank you!
