Certainly a nice SE razor for Under $50, but when you hit the $200 plus range and a sub, it changes the dynamic of the purchase. You have to "buy in" to the system. Not a great pitch for most of us that have already invest hundreds to thousands (straights and hones are expensive) in the hobby. A tough sell for people starting out since the lure of wet shaving (in the beginning anyways) is cost pushback from Gillette's insane cartridge costs.
I have some excellent GEMS that do an awesome job, I will stick with them, but that's just me.
