I had V1, It was very efficient razor and I like it a lot, but I found Cobra smoother, then sold it.
He said V2 has same efficiency, and smoother than V1, it is definitely winner.
If it has good quality control, 316L SS + Polished + US Made = $189 great price.

I was surprised by the price but realize business in this industry is extremely competitive and how many $400 + razors are being sold these days. Phil has kept away from pre order which I hate. I don't think AC type razors are as popular as they were several years ago.
With all that said I am in.

I like the look of the packaging and the price point that the injection molding of the stainless steel got this too compared to V1. Much cheaper than the Vector fully polished too !! I've also tried nearly every one of the modern single edge razors.

Is the V2 injection not CNC?

We are excited to announce that the second generation Asylum Rx is set to be released on Tuesday, February 1st at 7 AM Pacific Time. While the journey has been longer than expected due to the Pandemic and other unforeseen circumstances, the wait will prove to be well worth it.

While the aesthetics remain relatively unchanged from the initial release, there is a lot that is new under the hood. The blade angle has been changed ever so slightly to make the shave smoother with a little less blade feel but without giving up any efficiency. This artist club safety razor is equally at home mowing down several days worth of stubble or acting as your daily driver.

The second generation Rx is made from 316L Stainless steel utilizing a high tech metal injection process combined with machining and knurling that allowed us to produce the razor exactly as it was designed while maintaining tight tolerances.  The razors were then polished to a high finish.

While the original Asylum Rx received excellent reviews, we feel that this version is a major improvement.

Approximate Dimensions:

Material: 316L Stainless Steel

Overall Weight: 107g

Handle Weight: 56g

Head Weight: 52g

Handle Length: 82mm

Thanks Dave. I must have missed that. The product page just says made from 316L.
