I did reach out to Phil, he could not diagnose the issue from my picture and asked me to send it back to him at my expense. I'm going to move on from this vendor. Life is short.

The issue, which is purely cosmetic, is on the other side. There are two issues. The first is in the interior of the head. As the picture shows, there is some type of material that looks like dirt. It is still there, but I suspect it may be removed with a toothbrush and some dish soap. The second issue, is some spots / imperfections on the exterior of the other side (the opposite side of the SOTD pic that you saw). The second issue is minor and does not impact the shave at all, but it is a little disappointing to me.

As to the shave itself, it's decent. But for my money, I'll buy a Vector any day over this.

Maybe I'm a difficult customer. But for $190, I am not happy with the quality of the product I received (poor QC in my opinion).

Just my 2 cents. I hope others have a better experience with this vendor. As for me, I am moving on.
Thanks man for the honest reality of the situation. Hoping mine is right or I'll just send back for a refund. Sorry it wasn't as expected or the experience you deserved  Happy2

Unfortunately the lack of QC is Becoming more common among some vendors ......

Dave I was worried about the QC when I ordered. The earlier post only reinforced my concerns. My razor arrived today and I opened the box with apprehension. I can’t speak to the shave but the razor itself looks fantastic. The polish on the visible surfaces were first rate and certainly equal to  or better than my Blackland Tradere razor. Color me impressed thus far. If the razor shaves as good as it looks I’ll have a winner

Clint buddy, I could not be happier for you and hope it ends up being another winner for you! Again mine is still showing in California but supposed to be here Monday. I'll update on condition when mine arrives and hope everyone else does as well. Can't wait to see a report on the shave with yours clint64 !

I really think Phil would have been better served having a foam insert for the razor. Depending on orientation, I can see rubbing during shipping.

I want to add that I find it RIDICULOUS that ALI should be asked to send it back at his own expense when clearly there was a QC issue.......

Agreed… I’m also concerned that he is supposed to send it back on his own dime… mine is on its way… hopefully it arrives in good condition

Usually Phil is pretty good with returns so I am not getting the attitude. All he had to do is download a shipping label and send it via email.

I asked him to send me a prepaid shipping label. Phil declined and told me shipping the razor to him is my responsibility.

Vendors always pay for label, when the item has defect. They normally send label, before I request.
I don't know you used credit card or paypal.
For Paypal, you can open a dispute and then he gonna pay for shipping label.

I was surprised as well. I have purchased from dozens of vendors in the hobby and this is my first unpleasant experience I have had in a truly wonderful hobby and community. Blackland, Stirling, B&M, Wolfman, Timeless, Karve, Maggard, Tatara, Razorco, Yates, ATT, Alpha, Blutt, Shave Supply, Carbon, WCS, etc. etc. I have purchased from all others with no issue.

I get that Phil has his fans and defenders so don't want to offend anyone. But the whole experience has left bad taste in my mouth.

I am going to try not to spend anymore time on this as I don't enjoy it. I'll move on and spend my money with vendors I trust and have an affinity for.
