The original was very aggressive. I wonder if the blade gap is now neutral. From what I read the V2 has been toned down a little bit.

This is what Phil wrote up on it...

Like the original Asylum Rx that we released in 2016, the second generation razor is a single edge safety razor that uses artist club blades. While this version of the razor is still very efficient, it is more refined and a bit tamer than the original (in a good way). When paired with a Schick Proline blade or a Kai Titan mild blade, it can easily be a daily driver. That said, it also has absolutely no issues when mowing down several days worth of growth. Two passes and minor touch-up will leave you with a baby soft face.

The 2nd generation razor is made from 316L stainless steel and weighs in at 107g with excellent balance. While the original Rx received excellent reviews, we feel that this version is a major improvement.

I didn't need to see this, lol! I have really been enjoying single edge razors, and the General v2 and the Hawk v3 are great for me. This Asylum Rx sounds like one to watch for!

Hopefully he'll do another run if it sells out. I liked the original but this sounds better to me as the Vector beat the original for a daily driver for me

I find it hard to get excited about other single edge razors after the Vector. The Alpha/Exec Shaving Claymore, the Rocnel SE50, and the Asylum RX 2.0 all look interesting, but would they be better than the Vector in any way?

ive tried most modern SE razors including paradigm, rocnel, colonial, oneblade, so on, so on. Only kept the oneblade genesis, ti vector, and colonial V2. I could also just as easily keep just 1 of these 3 but who doesn't like variety? The asylum v2 does look great. Has a very similiar head to the cobra with a better loading mechanic due to the posts.

I got along fine with the first one but it was more than I really needed for a daily driver and so.......... ORDER is IN. I like the look of the packaging and the price point that the injection molding of the stainless steel got this too compared to V1. Much cheaper than the Vector fully polished too !! I've also tried nearly every one of the modern single edge razors.

Man…

I keep trying to be good… you guys make it impossible. The fact that this one is supposedly slightly tamer but still very efficient, I ordered one to try out . I’m sure if it doesn’t work out for me that I’ll have no problem finding a buyer .

Oh well

Plus the price seems very fair.
