Gentlemen,

Something about the Mongoose MinGoose intrigued me and I ordered the razor today and should have it in a few days. Fingers crossed it's a good one. Actually, I do have good feelings toward this razor and hope they prove right.

I had several Schick injectors and remained ambivalent about them before finally selling them. Although I don't particularly care for heavy razors, these Schicks were just too light for me. The only one left in my shave den is the Schick Type E, which I am thinking of selling.

The Mongoose MinGoose seems to have some weight, but because of its relatively small size, I would assume it is not as heavy as most stainless steel razors. I still think the Feather AS D-2 holds the perfect weight for me for a stainless steel razor. If the weight on the MinGoose is anywhere near that of the Feather AS D-2, I'll be a happy fellow.

Now comes the shave . . . Let's hope for the best.

Obie,
I'm really looking forward to your thoughts after you get the razor in your hands. I really like a few of my injectors, but I'm not a fan of the super light weight either. My Supply is incredible with the right blade in it -maybe this can be another stainless offering that offers a smooth shave without the light plastic.

It's not really an injector though. It just uses injector blades, am I right? Which seems kind of silly to me....I don't know, maybe it will be a great razor. I'm looking forward to the reviews.

That's right - that's also why I questioned the really high price in the first few posts. Supply made an actual injector in stainless for half the price of this one

Gentlemen,

From what I understand, this is not an actual injector razor, as are, say, the vintage Schick injector razors. You are right. Rather, the razor only uses injector blades without employing the injection mechanism that comes with the blade cartridge to insert the blade into the shave head.

The one reality I always disliked about the vintage injectors was leaving the blade in the razor until next change. I prefer to remove the blade in any safety razor after the shave. You can do this with the Supply razor by unscrewing the shave head open, which I find a good feature.

It seems the Mongoose MinGoose is a standard two piece stainless steel single edge razor much like the Mongoose, General and others that make blade removal after the shave possible.

I am looking forward to trying the razor. I hope I will not be disappointed, as some modern razors have failed to live up to expectation.

I almost pulled the trigger at Maggard's today, but I left it in the cart and asked questions about efficiency and smoothness. If they come back to me with what I want to hear I'll pay for it if they are still available.
I learned the hard way to listen to reviews before I buy and as I have razors galore, I really don't need another one, but I love injectors and I only have the SP for modern injectors.

Offer a razor that takes injector blades that really isn't an injector razor. Clever marketing for something new I guess that nobody else is making.

It's nice.

It's expensive.

It uses Injector blades.

I like mine. It works well with my UFO TiTan handle. I used the same blade for about two weeks of daily shaves.

It's narrower than a DE razor and is efficient without feeling rough or dangerously aggressive. Lots of audible feedback too.

I'm assuming you have injectors? Can you compare it to one you've used in terms of efficiency?
