FYI.

New knots avail. on Maggard's site--Plisson like, 2 band badger and black & white.  Wonder if these are the same as the Tuxedo/Black Wolf Knots?  Great range of sizes.

Looks like I'll have to add a 26mm Tuxedo to my meet-up shopping list!

Jeff,

Will be curious to if they are comparable to your Tuxedo knots.

The Black Wolf knots to me have a slight fan shape to them, which the Tuxedos don’t. However, there was a single batch of fan-shaped Tuxedos sold early on in their production, so there is of course the possibility that they could all be coming from the same manufacturer.

The base of these Maggard knot doesn’t look exactly the same as the couple of Tuxedos I have set into handles. It’ll be interesting to hear how they compare. These are not the first Tuxedo-like knots I’ve come across, but I haven’t yet tried the others I’ve seen, either.

Awesome. I wanted to try a 30mm Tuxedo, but $25 just for the knot after shipping was a little higher than I liked.

He has tons of the badger knots.
Wow!
300 of each in stock?

I'll try one.

I will put an order together soon.

I'm not into synthetics though. Not having to wait for badger knots from China is cool.

Nice. Can someone tell how the 30mm black & white synthetic would compare to say a plissoft style Big Bruce which really whips up wonderful lather? Thanks much.

I have an extra handle. Might be a fun project!

If these are anything like the original Tuxedo knots (which I suspect they are), they are miles ahead of the Plissoft type knots for me. Way softer and denser. They are cheap enough to give them a shot too. I'd say go for it!

Any options for a 26mm handle without spending a lot of money? Whipped Dog goes from 24mm to 30mm.

The only way to confirm how these knots stack up against the original tuxedo knot is to ask the weight of the 24mm. The tuxedo from AP Shave Co was requested to be extra dense and weighs in at 24 grams. There are more and more of the black/white synthetic offerings, but they may not feel the same.

To my knowledge TGN is the only one offering the fan shape.
