Don’t worry. I’m sure the Habs will easily knock out the leafs in the first round. It’s about the most Leafs thing that could happen. Big Grin

Marko  No worries, we just wished we lived in the mountains, so we're living vicariously through our branding!  And to be honest I haven't watched hockey since the 2010 Olympics so I have no dog in this fight...

I’ve always said the best thing about Calgary is it’s proximity to the mountains.

Sadly, hockey isn’t what if used to be for me.

Not if the Habs wear those awful blue jerseys

Sean, how did your move go?  Hopefully not too stressful. Moves generally aren’t any fun.

All in all it went okay but glad it's over.  Living out in the country is well suited to our lifestyle, looking forward to getting some animals and bees once we get on top of everything--just trying to get caught up!  I'll have to post some pics of our shop once it's all done.

Sounds great. I used to help out a family friend with his beekeeping operation. They’re amazing creatures. I’m not sure how much honey he produced but he had a “honey for sale” sign on the side of the road, gave away a lot of honey to friends (10 gallon pale annually!!) and made the rest into grappa (aka moonshine) and he was able to maintain farm status for tax purposes which I think was the whole point. I loved working with the bees.

I'm looking forward to learning! Some of our soaps use honey, or wax for the balms, but pretty much the main reason for us (aside from the fun of it) would be to make mead. Who knows, maybe one day there will be a Macduff's Meadery! But I do get ahead of myself, we haven't even figured out how we're going to cut all this grass yet.

Goats and sheep to cut the grass - then you can get milk and meat from the grass via the animal - Mead.  I'll be looking forward to MacDuff's Meadery.  I read up on Mead back in my home brewing days.  I especially liked the description of the hangovers you get from over-indulging with mead.  Apparently theyre epic and some feel that decapitation is preferable!  You will have space to do all sorts of things like (random thought based on what I've been reading about) grow Chili peppers and make hot sauce, both fermented and not.  Maybe mixed with some honey.  And sheep milk.  I don't care for goat milk  Big Grin

I hear sheep are easier to keep than goats anyways!  Less jumping. Speaking of mead I recently made a raspberry with florals and spices that's ready to bottle--it turned out so well that I thought it would make a great shave soap scent.  Splurged on some supplies including some $$$ beeswax extract--now that's a hangover Cool
