All in all it went okay but glad it's over. Living out in the country is well suited to our lifestyle, looking forward to getting some animals and bees once we get on top of everything--just trying to get caught up! I'll have to post some pics of our shop once it's all done.
Sounds great. I used to help out a family friend with his beekeeping operation. They’re amazing creatures. I’m not sure how much honey he produced but he had a “honey for sale” sign on the side of the road, gave away a lot of honey to friends (10 gallon pale annually!!) and made the rest into grappa (aka moonshine) and he was able to maintain farm status for tax purposes which I think was the whole point. I loved working with the bees.
I'm looking forward to learning! Some of our soaps use honey, or wax for the balms, but pretty much the main reason for us (aside from the fun of it) would be to make mead. Who knows, maybe one day there will be a Macduff's Meadery! But I do get ahead of myself, we haven't even figured out how we're going to cut all this grass yet.
