When my stubble is long I perceive significant blade feel (still smooth, but it feels like a blade-forward razor). On the second pass, with short stubble, I perceive mild blade feel. On the third pass, very little blade feel indeed. And going over smooth areas there is no blade feel at all.
In fact the razor has zero blade exposure, according to Theodoros, so what I perceive as blade feel may actually be something else. It may be something to do with the way the slots in the safety bar interact with my hair and skin. I don’t know. There’s something different about the design of this razor that I don’t fully understand yet. In the end it feels good on my face and it is as efficient as a good mid-high aggression razor, and mild on my skin - so it all works great.
Somehow this slotted safety bar system with the side channels seems to be a new and possibly superior razor head design. It has multiple advantages, from my perspective:
1. Rinsing the razor is much more effective than conventional razors, and you really can’t clog this razor
2. The side channels for water/lather evacuation prevent your hand or the handle getting wet and slippery. And the way the water shoots from the sides is incredibly satisfying and fun
3. The slots in the safety bar seem to make it shave more like an open comb razor, but because the comb is not fully open the razor feels smoother than an open comb
4. And possibly there is this phenomenon that I don’t yet understand, which seems to make the blade feel diminish with each pass - just as you would wish it to if you could adjust the blade exposure during the shave
There’s something different and interesting about this razor, and I am glad it is also made and presented to such a premium standard to do justice to the clever engineering. Possibly this razor is just better engineered than conventional razors and, for the price, it is well worth anyone interested in DE razors spending some time with it to form an opinion. I think if you get one, don’t sell it on if you feel it isn’t for you - take your time with it and it might possibly be an important razor. And I am sure Lambda razors will become more expensive in future.
Who says there is no innovation in razor design any more?
I know exactly what you mean about that blade feel. I first noticed it on my WR2s I don't understand the theory, especially given a neutral exposure.
I suspect that is a new design as well. Clever and boy does it work, as you noted. Great couple of posts. Thanks.

I concur. I’ve read and reread this thread over and over as I couldn’t quite put my finger on why it’s so different than anything “I’ve” ever used. The Moriarty “Hybrid Head” Theory makes the most sense to me. I took my time with it when I first received it because of the way the blade sits, I feared it would be too much for me. Now I don’t even think about it, I speed shave as if it was a .48
Certainly a cutting edge razor, pleasure to use. From engineering to aesthetics it’s a solid instrument

Like if the razor alone is worth more how is he able to include such a box and still afford to make the razor. Raising the price before being established in the market place and having a high demand could be a death sentence. If im trying to decide between 220 for this razor and a SS timeless, well I can find a lot more reviews and opinions about the timeless, or maybe Ill just eat the extra 50 bucks on a carbon SS because hey it's only 50 bucks. Not upset. Not employed by Lambda (and I think you know that). Just my opinions, and they are reasonable.
I'm not saying this razor is bad or anything, Im not sure why you are so upset that people dont feel great about a price increase, unless you are employed by Lambda.
You can’t go wrong with a Timeless razor. I never heard anybody disappointed with the quality or consistency. I like mine a lot. The Slim 0.5 and the Bronze 0.78 OC are the standouts for me, but both very high efficiency razors, which is my preference. FWIW, I think the Timeless razors are better than the Carbon, even if the prices were reversed.
