The OP is correct. Proraso can get it done for the regular shaver that wants simply to shave. Many of our customers are in this category. We just try to hook them into making ours their brand.

I've used it in recent times along with other cheap creams and sticks and had a wonderful slick shave but beyond that who cares to be honest.  Sorry I'm not trying to be rude but I read your post differently.  You seem to want to make the point in paragraph 5 that your not judging others but it seems that you are.  I don't have any dry or oily skin issues and I prefer a harder simple recipe soap instead of the current day buttered offering but people should buy on their needs and spend what they like.  The guy in front of me at the liquor store spent over $200 on 4 bottles of wine.  You buy anything shave wise including soaps it may very well last you the rest of your days.  Get over it frankly it's a hobby for many.

FRANKLY I wanted to avoid such reactions hence these words in my fifth paragraph.

If you fail to understand it or prefer to paraphrase the content to make your own point, then it's not something I should worry about. The same for everyone who thinks alike.

Hey Nikos I'm not yelling at you and I guess I'm better in person and can kind of sound a bit abrasive in a forum setting. At the end of the day it's just soap like what you like and maybe I read or took your post the wrong way but if you do want to return with some snark and have a back and forth for the fun of it then what is your point..

Tonight I used a product that we've all tried. It is very affordable and easily obtainable.

I gave one of these creams to a close friend of mine years ago to get him started. Some time later I offered him some "premium" artisan products I no longer needed. His response was that he already had what he needed for a great shave, but he would give them a try. He was talking about that cream I gave him.

Proraso, gents. All you'll ever need. This is my honest opinion. It took me years and cost me thousands of euros to understand that.

You can snob it all you want. You can prefer artisan products. You can spend hundreds of dollars on a premium set. It's your money, I don't blame you, you can do whatever you want with your hard earned money. I'm not here to judge anyone. But all you want is to achieve that kind of lather and have a nice and smooth shave. Proraso offers that. Scents are not fancy or luxurious, but that doesn't stop you from using the EdT/EdP of your preference at the end of your shave.

Proraso does not just get the work done. It does it better than many other products I've tried. I could name some more expensive artisan or mass produced products that are inferior to Proraso, but that would not make any difference. I would just start a flame war among members and this is not my intention.

Let's be honest. If I didn't mention the name and just saw you the following photos, you'd think it's some super hyped artisan product, one of those that we see in the instagramish SOTDs.

No special techniques needed. No pun intended. Just a cheap bowl, a synthetic brush, some cream and a few drops of water.

My thoughts and prayers are with my neighboor and fellow Italians. Stay strong and keep offering glorious products!
Does it get any better than this? Can any other product produce a better, more luxurious lather than this? Photos don't do it justice, my photo skills are not great and I used my phone camera. My almost 8 years of experience with shaving soaps and creams says no.

Since I'm a hobby shaver, I'm not gonna solely use Proraso - however it's very good stuff. I truly dig their sandalwood scent. Performance-wise, it punches well above the price point. Sure, I love using Grooming Dept., Wholly Kaw, Declaration Grooming, etc. But, I can also get a great shave with products such as Williams and Cremo. Some days, when I want a quick protective lather, and still feel like using a brush, out comes the Proraso. It loads and lathers quickly and doesn't take a bunch of water to get the lather dialed in. It just works.

It looks like to me you are in dire need of some shave soap. Hahaha just kidding it looks like you have enough for a couple of lifetimes. I love your setup I see a few soaps there I would like to try.
