Israeli Reds (Personna Platinum)

Glad it worked out well for you. I found a good deal and blind bought myself a box, but for some reason this blade doesn't really jive well with me.. Hopefully I'll find a razor that would work well with this blade. ATT S1 and Parker 24c is a no go with this blade for me.

I think the blade could be too sharp for these two particular razors for my skin.

That's been my experience at least. The Med Preps have been the best Personna for my skin so far though.

Call them mild or comfortable but loaded into the RR Black Mamba, which is a very smooth and comfortable razor, is a very pleasant experience. Smooth and drama free. Those among us who prefer the excitement of that blade on flesh feeling likely won't be satisfied with that particular combination.

I liked the reds when I tried them, but didn't see much difference from my other favorites which are the Rapira platinum lux and the Polsiilver SI.  Maybe when my stockpile of 500 blades begins to dwindle I will buy some more of these.  Of course that may take a while.

I'm finding that, apart from a select few blades, my experience with many blades is converging on quite good - I think improvement in technique plays a role and I also have somewhat limited the blades I use or try. For instance, I'm finding that most of the blades made by Personna in Israel are quite good - one factory turning out decent blades. I'm also far more comfortable with some of the sharper blades that used to frighten me, Feather, Kai and the like so that makes some of the other blades that I was initially comfortable with seem mild by comparison.

Is it? For some reason they are quite sharp and not so smooth in my experience, or at least with both S1 and Parker 24c. I also seem to recall a video on YouTube where a reviewer placed the Personna Platinums next to the Feather as his 2nd sharpest. I could be wrong and my memory could be off.

I'll try the blades again with a different razor, I do want it to work. I have a big box of this.. lol!

Who knows really. I wouldn't say they feel extremely sharp to me, but quite smooth. That being said, I don't get any tugging. Isn't there a saying about different fuel economy or something?

Yeah, the 102 is where the Personna's get used the most for me. Its always nice to find that combo that works just right for you.
