Nice review! I have the titanium DC shipping to me this coming week and the 17-4 DC in the next 3-4 weeks. Really looking forward to it and may sell my Carbon titanium ++ after getting the titanium H&S. From my memory of trying the 17-4, I felt like I got a better shave from it than the Carbon ++.

Well my pass around is off to AJSharp and I was able to get one last fast shave using the SB and the more I use the razor the more I really like it. A healthy dose of efficiency but not in what I’d call the hyper efficient category by no means but more than enough to take down 2 days growth with no problems. Finally got to load a hand stropped Feather in the razor and it was probably my favorite shave so far. Like I mentioned before I’d probably opt for a DC. Great razor and I’m glad I got to use both!

Enjoy the razors AJ.

Think he will post the rest of them when they get closer to being ready. I was the first to ask him about a DC plate many months ago so I was able to reserve the first one in 17-4 and titanium early on. The 17-4 is harder to machine than titanium from what Aji told me so the DC is the last one to get done. I should have the first titanium DC late next week or early the following week depending on USPS. Lately they have been extremely slow! He said the 17-4 is still 3-4 weeks off. He is hand polishing these himself and is able to get 2 done per day. DanLaw may be able to give you some info as well as he is in touch with Aji on a regular basis too.

I have a Ti coming in a few weeks, can't wait to try it. The head design is exactly what I look for, thin and maneuverable with a rigid blade.

I got the razors from Dragonsbeard and working through the shaves and will post my opinions in a few days. Nice bonus in having ETHOS shave soaps accompanying this pass around as it has quickly become a favorite of mine as well as many out there.

Haircut & Shave is laser focused on meeting customer demand for new product and to this end has been committed to releasing Dual Comb versions of their P076 line in 17-4 stainless and titanium.  Such has been the overwhelming demand for razors that Aji has been busy sending out releases of SB and OC versions literally nonstop as fast as one can produce hand made razors representing the peak of perfection requiring a day just to polish by hand....  It was with a little surprise that Aji reached out to announce he had finished the P076 Ti DC for the passaround we had long awaited.  Hitherto, in order to maintain flow amongst passaround participants, the paired P076 Ti SB and OC razors had migrated from East to West Coast.  This second razor possessing both combs, allows us to split the passaround between the coasts cutting the time to complete the passaround by half and also making shipping/insurance less expensive for participants - an added bonus being some (self included) prefer DC razors for mixing OC first passes with SB subsequent cleaning passes.

For those thinking they may be missing something by virtue of residing on the "wrong" coast for trialing the razor of their choice, can assure that there is absolutely nothing missing regarding quality between the two passarounds nor is there any delta in the shaving experience.  The two passarounds are about as equally matched regarding quality and shave experience as dueling pistols and would trust my life to either package in assessing H&S P076 Ti as a potential purchaser.  Even our soap sponsor, ETHOS remains the same with sole difference of the East Coast package containing Succes Pineapple Noir and Clean Unscented soap versus Succes Pineapple Noir and the latest Agrumes Melange in the West Coast package.

Having been without a H&S in possession since sending off the P076 Ti SB and OC 2 months ago, and "stuck" with my personal array of duFour Wolfman and BBS1 razors, it was surprising opun opening the package just how well made are H&S razors.  Sure, we discuss endlessly the incredible quality and craftsmanship of Aji's razors but when reencountering them, one is yet shocked at their damned perfection.  All joking regarding being "stuck" with Wolfman razors aside, H&S is the only current production razor brand encountered that can stand toe to toe on an equal footing with Wolfman - period and very abrupt, very hard stop.  But having experienced it in the past and repeatedly discussing it nonetheless pales next to viewing and handling the H&S razors.  Despite having handled more H&S products than likely anybody excepting Aji, I am taken aback each time as to their amazing world class standards of fit and finish.  Moreover, the design is unique adding to the legend being created - not only does one immediately know by the quality just how special these razors are but they stand apart by look too, akin to warriors of ancient history or fighter pilot aces of old that would mark their kit conspicuously so potential combatants would know exactly who they were up against.  It takes courage and pride to so differentiate oneself in a world where getting along quietly is the strategy advocated by the powers that be and the safety of the herd entrenched in every facet of civilized life.

Using the razor is again a revelation that a major manufacturer has been established neck and neck at the top of the pecking order.  Irrespective of how fondly I had remembered the shave experience, the H&S P076 Ti DC shocked me back into reality repeatedly muttering to self that: "Damn, this is an incredible razor as good as my favourite duFour razors costing in some cases multiples more.".  Personally much prefer a DC razor and every personal DE razor where it could be so speced is a DC in Mirror polish but this is just frankly the best of the lot.  The shave is as close as a 0,74+ WR1 Wolfman BUT the feel is somewhere around a 0,61 WR1: truly amazing that almost everybody can now experience a truly effortless BBS shave without the accompanying irritation that those of us with sensative damaged skin must otherwise endure.  Even were I working a Senior Executive level position in the Fortune 50, could shave every other day and still be considered groomed to British button down perfection.

The soaps from ETHOS are absolute perfection and what I use as daily go to, intermittently rotating the other top three soapmakers' lines for variety.  If one has damaged skin requiring the best soap cushioning and postshave available, ETHOS is simply tops.  ETHOS is supplying 3 tubs of soap: Succes, Lavender Supreme and Melenge di Agrume (including a 15ml white glass dropper bottle with Essential Oil blend: the intention is to add a drop or 2 if wanting to up the scent).  Surprisingly, have come to find for the first time in my shaving experience that a scented soap is actually better for my damaged and sensative skin due to the fruit extract powders used by ETHOS.  Folk, use these soaps and be sure to avail selves of the plastic spatulae Frank has provided; if more are needed, reach out to me and will arrange sending them out.  We are also going to survey how much additional scent passaround trialers are finding optimal for the Agrumes soap, passing the info back to ETHOS (the only info we share with anybody other than your publicly posted forum comments).

Will reiterate my summation from the East Coast P076 Ti SB and OC passaround review: these are the best 2 products of their type encountered in a lifetime of shaving – it really is that simple.  When items of such breakthrough significance by artisans having the vision and ability to make them reality are encountered, they deserve to be called out for being exceptional and so I did.  Shaving is not a hobby to me; rather, it is a chore that given an opportunity would happily be abandoned.  These products make a terrible burden better than any others I have used in a decade of experimenting with what are considered the best products available globally.  Whereas the H&S P076 17-4 is akin to driving an old midengine Ferrari 246 or 355 or Porsche 993 – it does exactly what is wanted without punishing terribly for mistakes and the N075 Al is akin to driving a Porsche 996/7 or Ferrari Italia – it makes you perform better than ever imagined without punishing mistakes, the P076 Ti is a Lamborghini Huracan – providing the thrills with margin of error protection of a Ferrari Italia but retaining some of the fun feedback of the Ferrari 355.

However, H&S faces a dilemma; at some point the price needs raised to reflect the industry leading design and execution of world class USA production using expensive to machine metals and truly world class artisanship.  Less critical but still of importance, H&S needs develop a suitably simplistically stylistic stand to complement these razors.

The Haircut & Shave Company’s (HS) Ti offering is a hand polished Titanium (grade 5) version of the successful H&S stainless P076 DE razor with a mid aggressive gap of 0.76 mm and positive blade exposure. It seems many vendors are jumping on the “Titanium razor train” and releasing versions of prior razors or entirely new DE razors in Titanium. The allure of Titanium seems to have bitten users and artisans alike and I have had the opportunity to use this one along with several of the previously available commercial releases from other artisans – I hope to write up a mini comparative review. Although I tried both the SB and OC versions, I personally prefer SB razors and my comments pertain to the SB version.

All shaves were using the Gillette Nacet blades which for me is a very good and reliable blade as it is reasonably efficient and smooth even after 4 uses. I actually use them every so often. My preshave is the standard hot shower and I bowl lather with an APShave Co 2BED synthetic brush. It was a treat as always to use the supplied ETHOS (unscented and noir success pineapple) soaps. As I have previously reviewed the ETHOS soap it has fast become my favorite soap with its high end hydration and excellent glide and cushioning abilities. It was a great opportunity to use the unscented ETHOS which is just as good as the excellent success version. In my experience any razor or blade will shine and perform at a higher level with a superior soap and the ETHOS checks these boxes 100 %. If I had only a single "desert island" soap it would be the ETHOS as that is how impressed I have been with it so far. So now that the razor has been paired with a superior soap how does the HS Ti look and perform ?

APPEARANCE:  This is a looker and its hand polished Titanium finish is shiny as others have already commented. Titanium is a difficult metal to polish and you cannot compare the shine of a polished Titanium with the potential mirror polishing from a stainless (303, 316 or 17-40) steel razor. Although difficult to appreciate on a camera photo, it is shinier than the Paradigm Ti2 and is comparable if not slightly more glossy than the Timeless polished Ti. The handle has a very nice pattern which is pretty well standard for the HS line of razors – no complaints here. There was no matching stand to display this beauty in one’s shave den.
MANEUVERABILITY: This is a light weight three-piece razor at 60 gm as Titanium is less dense than stainless and depending on the razor will typically weigh 40 % less. It is half the weight (and nearly twice the price) of the all stainless 303 steel H&S P076 version. For comparison the Paradigm Ti2 and Razorock Baby Smooth weigh between 65-66 gm. The thin profile head which covers the blade tabs is extremely maneuverable feeling nimble and able to glide into all those tight spaces. The handle represents a good compromise between shorter 3 inch and longer 4 inch handles. It gives the razor an overall good balance upon all passes. The knurling although very competent is neither aggressive nor purely cosmetic – I had no issues with the grip with wet hands.
SMOOTHNESS: Titanium razors, whether polished or not, always gives this user a smoother shave as the metal feels softer on the face in comparison to any brass or steel razor which other reviewers seem to also experience. This HS Ti is no different yielding a smooth and comfortable shave across all passes.
EFFICIENCY: This polished HS Ti in both SB and OC reports a 0.76 mm gap and as a mid aggressive razor resulted in an efficient 2 pass shave with some touch ups (for me). It can easily be a daily shaver and likely would function for 2-3 day beard growths without any issues. It was comparable to the Paradigm Ti2 and slightly less efficient than the Timeless Ti 0.95 which was no surprise. I had no problem finding my optimal shave angle (which was small) and dialing in the results. I was able to easily get efficient 8 hour BBS/DFS shaves.
PROS:   1.           A great combination of smoothness and efficiency with long lasting results.
              2.           Although light weight at 60 gm it is well balanced.
              3.           The blade tabs are covered (I prefer) with the head being very low profile.
              4.           A hand polished Titanium finish – not easily obtained or produced.
CONS:   1.           Some may not be able to justify the premium $400 Titanium price.
              2.           Some may find the 60 gm weight difficult to adjust versus a heavier steel razor.
                     3.             A nice stand would complement the rugged case option.

Just had another wonderful shave with the H&S Ti DC using a 4 shave Nacet and ETHOS Succes soap. What a great experience it has been using these products! Thank you Aji and Frank for making these available to the shaving community to trial.

Received the TI OC and SB pass around last friday and had first shave with the SB on Saturday with a fresh feather and Ethos Success soap which Dragonsbeard generously provided.
to provide some context I have not gelled with any of H&S razors so far. This includes both the mixed metal and the 714 SB and OC. In approximately a weeks use with each I had only one good shave with them. Like most wet shavers here we can be a very optimistic bunch and I felt it was only fair that I give the Ti a chance. Let it be said AJi's offerings are special - wonderfully crafted with amazing mirror polishes and the Ti is no exception. Without a doubt tier 1. On to what truly matters - the shave. Really enjoyed the SB and was pleasantly surprised. Nice face feel, a little light but easy to adapt too. Cut every whisker down with no resistance, tugging, pulling or leaving a trail of tiny weepers. Highly maneuverable and was easy to use under the nose. Provided a very respectable close shave under my chin and along my jaw line which is my most challenging areas for an efficient and close shave. Excellent AGT which the previous H&S's failed at. Perhaps I just did get on with the previous metals but the first Ti shave redeemed H&S in my experience as a contender.

I did not shave on sunday as per my usual tradition during golf season and I was looking forward to seeing how the SB would handle a more demanding course so to speak this morning. Even better than the first. A great close 3 pass shave. I will run the H&S against my Timeless .95 polished DC this week. Timeless is the only other TI I have experienced.

I have become a huge fan of Ethos's products. I have the Lavender soap and the DB and Sandalwood skin splash. The soap is amazing - slick, with great cushion and can work any amount of water. Success has a lovely scent - not over he top and metallic smelling - made me want to chow down a big old juicy pineapple and inhale all its goodness. As I have a sample of the Success skin splash it provided a tight combination meaning that they both smelled the same as opposed to one being slightly off due to the difference in the elements being used to create the usual soap and splash combo. My SWMBO really liked the scent. Yes, it needs repeating - she really liked the scent and she rarely gets excited about any scents except Sandalwood and, in that regard, she is a big fan of DB's Sandalwood splash. The Clean soap actually smelled clean without the residual underlying funk of most unscented soap.

We are fortunate to be in an age where we have so many artisans who provide us with the all the elements for a great shave - from prep to finish. My thanks to Dan for organizing this and many other passarounds - a great service to wet shavers and, of course, to Aji and Frank aka Dragonsbeard.
